Glad to see the PSI measurements. Back to the electrical troubleshooting. Are you headed for the gauge and cluster next? I think you ruled out everything under the hood.
Recommend change out the transmission fluid. Although it looks fine on the dipstick, remember it is a hydraulic fluid that helps store energy to move gears, clutches, etc--this fluid and its properties wear out over time. Replace the fluid--it sounds like its time.
If I was a thief reading this forum: starter cutout and fuel cutout sound like the most reasonable places I would go--along with every other car forum on anti-theft. Not giving away secrets, think of the signals that require our engine to start. Hint: Can you start our LC if its in drive...
It doesn't hurt to verify. I'll keep an eye on the thread to see your progress. Agreed- if oil pressure is good, turn to the cluster for troubleshooting; you've eliminated everything else.
John, This is Will across the way in Bahrain. I recommend you stop running your engine and open up your oil pan. I spent 3 weeks chasing what I thought was a bad oil pressure sender and wiring--same problem- I was watching my oil pressure gauge slightly move. I was too late ignoring it and I...
After oil changes, new filter, new sender unit, verifying wiring and gauge operation, listening to the engine, observing splashing inside the oil cap/spout, clearly seeing no leaks, and spending hours on IH8Mud with endless 'low oil pressure forums', I to will "Not worry about it". I'm done...
Similar issue when I had a dirty Idle sensor (throttle body). Removed, cleaned and improved, but not perfect. Did not become 100% until I had fuel injectors rebuilt/cleaned.
thanks for your photos, I was curious how the noise filter was attached. Glad to see its just 'taped' to the wiring harness. I thought I was missing a bracket or something... Great work.
Your post helped me understand why I don't have needle bearings as I build the part list for my knuckle rebuild--referencing Wits-End Poster. Thanks for the help--'94 LC
Do you have any tips on installing 33555-60071. I'm looking at pavement like you were and curious how much of the interior components you had to remove and where you found the easiest point to separate the linkage underneath the LC to slip it into place. Thanks
