hey, guys. my fj40 is an 11/72, so the date range that my truck falls inside for the ccot vr is 9/72-5/78. only problem is, the female connector in my truck matches the male connector (and wiring colors) of the 1958-9/72 ccot vr. has anyone run into this issue before? (pics attached.)
Just bought this steering stabilizer new from CCOT, only to find my '73 FJ40 has had steering mods and can't accommodate it. My loss, your gain. $96 from CCOT...$75 from me, plus shipping.

while not difficult, disassembling and reassembling the roof and the gutter is a time-consuming and tedious task. I just finished mine. After I put everything back together, I realized that I could have skipped the "perfectification" steps and it still would have looked just as good...
thanks! she's a 73. just finished restoring her body a few months ago. no frame-off, just cut out the rust and re-painted her. she's officially retired from the trails, but she's all over the road (in more ways than one). :steer:
greenbeast - awesome pics and story - thanks for sharing. though i don't have any children (yet, maybe...), i can imagine how special that experience must have been.
there's definitely something about the fj40 that brings out the kids in us and sparks the imagination of children. almost every...
no complaints about ccot from me. i have ordered many miscellaneous parts from them - some oem, some aftermarket. their prices are reasonable, the customer service is friendly, and their delivery times are, for the most part, short. their body panels do take some time, but they make you well...
wiper problems fixed!!!
ok, guys...so that someone down the road may learn from my experience, i feel like i should post an explanation of what i did to get the wipers working again. as mentioned before, i re-soldered the l/w wire back to the low-speed brush. i cleaned the armature and brush...
for what it's worth, i soldered the l/w wire back to the low speed brush per coolerman's website (see attached pic), re-inserted the armature, put on the cover, connected everything and pulled the ws wiper switch - nothing. just a lot of heat in the motor. if i manually turn the armature, the...
hate to bump, but i'm a little lost when it comes to electrical issues. do my brushes look ok? and which brush does the white/blue wire connect to?
thanks!
more pics
ok fellas. here are some pics of the brushes. don't really know how to judge the quality of the brushes, but i at least know that i've got an electrical issue. as shown in the picture, the blue/white wire is disconnected. my understanding is that this wire feeds the low speed brush...
