If you replace your existing reverse bulbs with LEDs, they will draw less than 1/3 the power of your current factory incandecent lights leaving you with plenty of room to add two 10 watt LEDs. You will have 10 times the amount of back up lighting while drawing the same or less current than the...
While not an 80 series... I switched to LED reverse lights like PFRANS projector style and LED tail lights. I kept the turn sig bulbs the same as I didn't feel like dealing with resistors to make the blinker still flash correctly. While I was at it I also installed a couple of 10Watt LED driving...
I missed ya'll by one week! But did see a couple trickle in before I left the weekend before. I was sad to leave knowing what was coming in the following weekend. Prayin for next year... Top of Deer Lake at sunset
So far I have had great luck with my cheap EBay LEDs. Even high temp steam pressure washed them many times with no leaks and they are, as my friends call them, Stadium lights. Stupid bright! 42" 240 watt on roof, 6" round on bull bar 30 or 70 watts (high and low, each light can run 3 or all 7 10...
I am the Planner of the "MOACT" (Mother Of All camping trips). We are gone now. I was rather upset I had to work this weekend or I would have stayed for this event. It is crowded up there! I heard rumors of another event this coming weekend other than this one. I hope you guys get some good...
The first two are from Lake basin Rec Area, Plumas County, CA. 2012. The last two are from Eagle Lakes, Placer County, CA. 2013.

Does anyone know if this can be mixed with synthetic? I have 260K on a clean 2F running synthetic for most of it's life. I have a bit of compression loss on #5. The other cylinders are at or above factory spec. Wonder if this might help it.
My vote would be semi gloss. I went with gloss. It is easy to keep clean because less mud/dirt sticks to it. However I am just a bit OCD when it comes to my cruisers cleanliness.
Sandpaper to knock off the rust. I used Rustolium on mine then went back and hand polished it. Easy to touch up or repaint. I primed mine too. Paint doesn't chip off as easily. 3 cans for my rear swing out bumper, 2 cans for my bull bar, and 3 cans for both of my sliders.
Been there done that with the cheap lights. I stepped up to Hella's and wow what a difference. Then up to PIAA's and again, an improvement. Cheap ones are ok for rock lights I guess. But on a dark rocky trail at night, I prefer good lighting. As has been said, you get what you pay for. I've been...
Thank you Kurt, LCwizard, and Franklin40. 18mm should be easy to find. Yes Kurt I think it was Brice I was talking too now that yo mention it. He stated 11/16 would work and that came to 17.4mm. So I assumed 17mm as I didn't want to stretch the bushings. Again, thank you for all your help and...
So I just got my OME heavy plus springs installed from Cruiser Outfitters. It has already been said many times here but I can't say enough good things about their customer service!!!
However I seem to have smaller bolts on my custom rear shackles than OME calls for. Kurt told me I need 11/16th...
That area is beautiful. My 60 and I know it well. But how did you get your (very nice) 80 down to the lake front? The Forest service has the trail to the waters edge of Deer Lake closed to 4x4's.
Thanks for your response Machinist! My back shackles are only 3". Your front perches look identical to mine but your shackles are an 1 and a 1/2 longer which sounds like the Man A Fre kit.
I could be wrong but I thought I heard somewhere the LC Wizard makes 4+ stuff for Man A Fre. I probably...
While out wheeling last month I snapped a spring. I also noticed that the bushings on my SR kit are shot causing the shackle to grind into the original spring perch. The PO installed the springs and kit some 13 years ago. I will be hitting up Kurt from Cruiser Outfitters soon for some OME heavy...
