Installed a new “atoto” headunit in place of an old one that gave out. Pretty solid for $140 with Apple CarPlay. Figuring out a bug with the backup camera though
Youre probably right, with the old headunit there was always a low hum and i always assumed it was the amp. Maybe ill bypass down the road. Side note is there anyway to fix this clip that i broke?
My 2000 470 came with an older kenwood aftermarket headunit and it recently crapped out so I am going to replace it with a basic double din touch screen. Ive read through alot of the posts made about this and if anyone can pipe in...
The splicing the previous owner did looks like it would...
My LX came with an aftermarket older kenwood double din that has finally given out. Does anyone have a suggestion of somewhere to get it replaced or if anyone local is confident to do this and wants to help me I cant help compensate you for your time. Thanks
Mine just happened when trying to start it, immediately snapped and knew what happened. Quoted like $800 from sohp but all said and done probably 5 hours of work, knowing what I know now could probably get it done in 2.
Y’all are awesome, I got it back up and running. Overall not the worst job once you know what you’re doing.
If anyone has questions about the fix let me know
Does anyone have advice on why the broken piece won't come out? It seems "locked" in. I pulled the white end off like 1/10th of an inch off the rear of the ignition housing.
If anyone runs into this, I took off the white portion on the back of the ignition cylinder and that’s what kept it...
This is a bitch to get the broken piece out, i was able to rotate it back towards "neutral" if that makes sense but it doesnt budge at all. I am attempting to move that little slide that locks it in but I would expect a little bit of play even with it in place.
