Thanks @wsudu, it turns out the cleaning didn't do much good. I had the CEL turn on 30mi later, so I bought a pair of the Denso A/F sensors and installed them. It's been running great ever since.
Sorry to revive this thread, but just wanted to relay my experience in case it can help anyone.
A week ago, CEL went on with P0138 (High voltage on Bank 1 sensor 2). This is the same as P0139 which is for bank 2. I cleared the codes by disconnecting the battery and then took a 60mi highway...
Yesterday I had the transmission on my 2006 LX470 replaced with a used one.
If anyone wants the one we took out with 237k miles let me know ASAP before the shop gets rid of it on Wednesday 2/26.
Located in San Jose, CA. Ideally you'd pick it up, but I can arrange shipping for $50 plus the...
Since the fluid exchange didn't fix all my shifting problems, I was worried I'd need a new tranny. Used trannies run around $1k on ebay, but who wants to go through having it swapped out?
Long story short, I found some pretty cool advice about switching the SL1 / SL2 solenoids to improve shift...
That's true, which is usually why flipping cars is generally not profitable. I'd hope the parts count for something though, even if the labor can never be recouped.
GLWS. I kinda wish I'd held out for this one. Mine is a 2006, but with more miles and didn't come with any goodies. Hey, where did you find your cargo barrier?
Thanks for the speedy reply. Too bad! I'm thinking about removing my spoiler and didn't want to use plugs or some other hack to deal with the holes. If you ever start offering such a set, let me know.
Take a look at the videos above. It's not an easy process to drain the entire transmission, because you need to pump out the old fluid somehow. In the videos they do this by eg disconnecting the line to the transmission cooler and running the engine.
The old fluid was black and had lost its viscosity. The pan and magnets were covered in metal dust, so it clearly needed to be done. As others have mentioned, it's probably prudent to change it at least every 100k miles, or as some do it, 2-3 quarts every oil change.
The transmission is...
I just got this done on my 2006 LX. Apparently it was the first time the fluid was flushed (after 230k miles)... I dropped the pan, cleaned everything and replaced the filter and gasket. It was very tedious pumping 12 qts of Amsoil WS ATF through the system, even going through the return line...
I'm looking for the little latch in the center console lid that keeps the cupholders stowed on my 2006 LX though I'm not sure if earlier models have this. (The latch has been removed in the pics, but the intent is to show where it goes.)
I'm not sure if you ever got this figured out, but it seems that only four phones can be stored in the bluetooth system. Mine had all four taken by the previous own, so I had to delete them before I was able to connect my iphone. See this video:
