Damn. Impressive in a number of ways. Glad the wife was only "rattled" and nothing more damaging.
I have a drivers side assembly, but 14+. Hopefully they get it buttoned back together in no time.
Body mount chop complete. Shop owner happens to be a friend with an OCD level as high as mine. Pie cut the bottom and put a nice relief in the top. Large C-clamp and some hammering to move the face back. Looks almost stock.
Don’t mind the shiny, that’s a fresh coat of rattle can bedliner.
Tried a T4R harness for the camera and wasted $300 (facepalm). I’ve just gotten accustomed to using mirrors and turning my head...old school.
Detours places two threaded rivnuts in the swing out beam for the plate.
Hitch mounted swing out from Detours here. Leave it in 100% of the time...why? Well insurance in case I'm across town. Also, TPMS...my OCD cannot deal with a light on.
Also, rotate in your 5th. Tires seemingly last "longer" and you'll have more consistent wear across the set.
Agree that their instructions are generic and terrible, however the product works. Had it on my previous '17 Tacoma, and installed in the '16 GX within the first few weeks of ownership. Plug-n-play is a bonus, and reversible easily. 19 months and going strong.
I’ve ended up doing nothing.
The 5th Gen T4R kit didn’t work as hoped. And rather than hack up factory wiring, I’ve decided that mirrors work just fine. I can see under the tire just enough to catch the front of cars, etc, before making contact.
Warm water and a mild soap. They're coated so unlike real, untreated, leather you don't need to clean and then condition. Usually the most I find is the dye transfer from denim. The Chemical Guys leather cleaner is safe for coated leathers/vinyls.
A friend of mine here in VA just had Main Line Overland install the LRA in his 2019. He's had the tank almost two weeks now. He is definitely enjoying 700+ mile ranges between fillups.
Most of the Dob's line, Ironman too, is coated...meaning not bare metal. So in theory they should hold up better than the likes of Fox & Icon. There are a few products out there that I've used with success here on the east coast. Mavcoat Steel Shield is one of those. It's basically a temporary...
Hey folks! Do you guys cap the number of rigs for your rides?
Asking, as we have a small and growing club down here in Richmond that is always looking to get out and explore. I don't want to crowd the party by sharing within the club however. Figured I'd ask first.
Smart man. All these reasons as to why I'm running the 265/70/18 Ridge Grappler in standard load. Pretty much the largest tire I could find with a SL rating. Rides wonderfully.
