200,000 on a sequoia or tundra is pretty much just broken in. Not a big issue of concern unless maintenance was really neglected. Check suspension components (especially lower ball joints) and frame.
Answers to your other questions:
Do all 4WD Sequoias have A-Trac and is it the same as that...
Replaced steering shaft seal. The old one was toast and was experiencing engine ticking noise in the cabin on acceleration. New seal and now no ticking sound. Surprised on how much noise this seal keeps out of the cabin.
Also cleaned up the headlights with 3M kit.
Yeah, compared to land cruisers most Toyota parts for sequoias are pretty inexpensive. I think I use PartSouq for diagrams for part numbers (they also show aftermarket part numbers too) - more thorough than some of the dealership sites.
Not much in terms of pitfalls. Biggest thing on all of them is to check undercarriage for rust. Everything else is relatively simple to work on.
Many need some refreshed suspension. Key things to check are lower ball joints (OEM preferred) and when timing belt/water pump/pulleys were...
Just did this to my 2002 Sequoia. Works just like you showed. I tapped into my radio 12V for power because all the JBL amp stuff was in the way of getting to the cigarette lighter. Thanks for the videos.
same torque. I don't remember it being that high of a torque. I think the repeated heat/cool cycles of the engine over 30 years fatigued the bolts (assuming previous owners never over torqued them).
sorry, also saw that he changed fuel pump and filter. Interesting that this only happens when the truck is warmed up. Would electrical (wires/plugs) be sensitive to warm engine bay like this?
seems pretty consistent with EFI relay. It was mentioned that he replaced the main relay - not sure if that meant EFI or not. He may want to consider changing relay to camry relay. Other possibilities could be fuel pump is giving out (either because of age or strain). Have fuel filter and...
Given all that you have done so far and if you have also followed Jon Held's 3FE tune up guide (which includes making sure valves are adjusted) you are pretty much approaching the most that you can get out of the truck. Check that your timing is good. If it is you can always advance it a few...
Yes or the EFI 15 amp fuse - whichever one let it stay disconnected for about 15 minutes. The ECU is older tech that doesn't relearn anything unless it is reset.
On the 3FE error code 25 & 26 COULD BE due to a vacuum leak, block or a vacuum hose disconnected. The other reasons posted in the FSM are still valid. I had the same codes and it was my AFM.
Looking over page 1 of this thread Ohms (conductivity) should work as well (looking at infinite resistance to low resistance). On the sensor you should be connecting + from battery to Vcc of sensor, - to GRD on sensor. Then connect the + lead of the multimeter to Out on sensor and the negative...
I used a digital multimeter and just turned the rod in the speed sensor housing nice and slowly until the voltage dropped. You may want to first just check that you have the sensor connected correctly by directly testing it with a magnet (connect the battery and multimeter direclty to the...
