I will keep the 722.6, That is why I swapped the case to the 4x4 case version. Break all how? The 722.6/NAG1 has had great success and reliability. Used in a ton of different applications so easy to come by. They were in the sprinter vans with 10,000lbs+ GVWR.
Shes stripped down to the frame now. Swapped transmission cases to the 4x4 variant (same internals) Still waiting on my 722.6 to LT230 adapter to mount the transfer case. Got the frame mostly stripped down of anything that was in the way and time to test fit the engine and to figure out...
The teardown of both vehicles has started!
Bed comes off today or tomorrow followed by the cab.. Then it will fit in the garage! and time for clean up of that nasty engine bay
Here is my new build thread! This is a new thing to do me writing threads like this so bear with me.
I have purchased a volvo c304 6x6 to build out as an offroad sprintervan like expedition camper. I have done multiple engine swaps before but with more common engines like the chevy LS...
Unfortunately I have already purchased the om648.
I plan to us a variant of the 722.6
I would like to find an W5A580 4x4 version. I am not sure if I would need a stand alone TCU or if I can just use the factory TCU from the 2005 Mercedes E-320 cdi
Awesome man! I just wanted to see if you knew something I didnt before I ship this car across the country to tear apart! Wish me luck! and thanks for the info! Would love to see more of your FJ!
