Sorry for the delay. I found that the bottom brake light socket, where the ground wire is soldered to it, had a little corrosion. I resoldered the connection and the lights work correctly now. The only way I found it was by comparing both sides and while there was no corrosion, the driver's tail...
OK, so if the headlight switch is off, the brake light works well. If the headlight switch is turned to the on position, the driver's side tail light doesn't work and neither does the brake light.... But the passenger works fine. Weird.
Have a weird problem and I've searched for answers but found nothing that matches what's going on.
For some reason my Driver's side tail light isn't working. I've looked over all the harnesses, unplugged and put dielectric grease on them. Everything is so clean and free from corrosion I can't...
Fair enough. Thanks guys for clarifying. I’m thinking if it had been painted it would have to have been a while ago and they did a great job of no overspray... not sure how.
Must be my 86 was painted at some point too but it is older with 220,000 on it.
I had posted to ask others on this thread:
Has This 97 LX450 Been Painted?
No s*** show, you just asked about a clean 80 and I have one. No worries. I don’t think you’ll find a cleaner one unless your budget is closer to $20,000
I have an odd question because it came up recently where someone said my undercarriage has been painted and there's surface rust on the vehicle.
This was purchased out of California with 158,000 or so miles on it. I looked at my 86 that was also out of California and it has the same color paint...
I edited the post, $10,000 FIRM. Almost made a $1000 mistake. :)
Too much rust on this one for the OP, if anyone else is interested it's available and not listed anywhere right now. Fixing antenna. Thanks for looking.
