I’ve yet to get the broken pice out, but before I get caught up in installation, here’s a shot of the old, broken piece alongside the new part, extracted from the assembly purchased through PartSouq. Notice the 2061 A on both parts. Also, in the 4th picture, note the thickened rod, just above...
I bought the extension, but haven’t run it yet. I need to confirm that it will work, as I’m taking it on the road in a couple of weeks. I’ll check this weekend and post back either way.
On the off chance some who cares might see this, I bought the wrong rear coils for a 4th gen 4Runner, which became evident after installing them and driving around a bit on them (200 miles or so). Since the finish is scratched Ironman won’t take them back. I paid $225, and am looking to recoup...
Added a little lighting. I upgraded my Baja Designs s2 sport fogs to Diode Dynamics Ssc2 fogs, and added a light bar (CoLight 25” slim). It seems that, along with everything else being less impressive with age, my eyesight is not what it once was, especially at night. Hopefully this will help...
Thanks for the feedback. As usual, I got it and threw it on before a trip and just wanted the quickest method. I‘ll take your recommendations into consideration next time I’m getting ready to mount it.
I’ve only used it incidentally on a couple of trips, so not exhaustive testing, but it seems fine. It could definitely be more streamlined, and I’m going to look into lower profile mounting, but that’s on me, not Ironman.
I have the same wheels (only in grey), tires, and run 1.25 “ spacers. While I don’t rockcrawl, I’ve been very happy with the wheel/tire setup. So unless you hate your wheels (easily repainted), I’d stick with them. My LX is set up for wheeling/exploring the west. No issues.

At 265k miles it was way past time for the third timing belt and water pump. I’m in the middle of a move, so I paid to have the work done, plus transfer case, tranny, and front diff service. Now I can rest a bit easier knowing that those items are taken care of. Whew!
I think for folks who are used to dedicated snow tires KO2s might seem less than. My rig came with Blizzaks (or however that’s spelled) and it was pretty much unstoppable . But I’ve run 2 sets of KO2s now and guess what- my rig is pretty much unstoppable. Can I break traction if I get rowdy...
If you’re in the South Denver area (Englewood, Centennial, Littleton, Highlands Ranch, etc) ToyAuto Masters has done me well for years. They’re on South Broadway south of Englewood proper.
All I can offer is some means of mitigating the shin strike. There are a number of options of bumpers and steps that go in your receiver that would make hitting it with your shin less brutal. I searched Hitch receiver rubber bumper and found a number of options. Or, come on over to the dark side...
edit- just noticed you’re rolling on snow tires. Probably the larger portion of your increased mileage, assuming that they’re smaller diameter ?
Also, with 35” tires not probably your actual mileage, unless you’ve calibrated your Scangauge?
