Ah damn. That figures. I guess I could just go get another BB from a store and use that?
Any pictures you have would be great!
I’m still working on it and the tail light wiring. Not sure if it’s ever gonna get finished. Lol
So just to be clear I got the EZ wiring harness kit. Is it technically the same as the painless wiring kit?
What are the other options for a whole rewiring of an FJ 40 if you don't use either of these kits?
thanks again
Thanks for all the feedback. I will print all this info off and take it to the guy that’s working on my cruiser. Hopefully this won’t scare him off. This is the third guy I have taken my cruiser too. Haven’t driven it in about 3 months and summer is almost gone. Totallly sucks.
Thanks for the reply.
What does OEM stand for?
No, my mechanic didn’t get the lights to work unfortunately. That’s where we are stuck.
I will look into the painless manual and hopefully it’s got the year of my FJ. Although I’m not sure exactly what year it is... it’s got to be between 76 to 79...
Hello everyone. I recently redid my wiring on my 76-78 fj40. I used ez wiring. A buddy of mine did it for me and got to the taillights and basically gave up.
Did research and found out it was the hazard switch that screwed everything up. Got a mechanic to finish it up and he’s wondering if...
Hey.
I need a hazard switch with the wiring. No knob. Do you have any left and do you ship to Canada? I did a full conversion with ez wiring and the taillights have been a huge disaster like I have read on this site.
I need the hazard wiring harness in the back of the hazard switch to...
So I’m almost ready to put it all back together. It’s been a year maybe longer lol. I really don’t have the time or expertise for these kinda things but I think I might have got this one!
I tested it with the battery and by god it worked!
Just one more question. Do I fill the gear area up...
I have one BB. If there is supposed to be 2 then I lost one dammit. It’s fits in the red arrow shaft end but the second red arrow the screw is just a flat end. Is there supposed to be another BB at the fat end of the shaft that fits into the metal casing?
Also I have 4 washers, where do...
omg sorry I checked back and didn't see these answers/questions...
it was running slow, slower and then stopped
I took it apart and of course didn't document anything, learned my lesson the hardway for sure!!
still havent gotten to it gonna work on it now with the above instructions
Hey everyone. Just joined this site. I have a ‘78 land cruiser that I’m slowly working on. I drove 14 hrs and bought it from a mining camp 5 years ago. I have limited time and space to work on it unfortunately.
