I found this today. This thread seemed to be a good place to drop it - and not start a new one. I hope the link works. It was interesting to see some guy hoarding four of them.
It worked great for me. I bought it off Amazon. I tried the shaved down socket - no luck. This was before I had a decent heat source/torch or a welder. I was not interested in doing the “drive of shame” to have a shop weld up something to remove it. Replaced them with the hex head drain...

I went with the SEM Monterey pictured above. The photos make the color look a little off. It looks better in person. SEM also makes a prep/cleaner. Don’t forget to disconnect the battery prior to removal.
I had the best luck with an inexpensive steamer and a plastic scraper. I figured that method out while pulling a lot of wallpaper in our house. This was the before photo. I’ll have to get an after photo later today.
Found some keys underneath. I’ve learned a lot since buying that vehicle. I know check under a truck before I check anything else. Rusty-broken bolts and a broken bolt extractor will change your perspective.

I had a 50-50 chance. I edited my post. Thanks for the correction. I need the trim pieces in gray and usually whatever part I need it’s no longer available in that color. Finding oak/tan stuff has been very challenging. That may be why a few folks are changing everything to black. :hmm:
The one I got from the dealership looked like these in the ebay ad. It has a KL logo on it. Not as nice as the golden L.

This thread reads like it’s fairly easy job to replace just the glass. The trim pieces break if you look at them wrong. They are no longer available in tan/oak. Probably something in the FSM about replacement. Good luck.
