My current 100 is a 98 LX that was only in Utah a couple years and has already started doing this; my truck and the wife's car as well. My assumption is rock chips followed by exposure to salt (but I know i'm wrong).
I try to buy all my cars out of CA/AZ, so I understand paying a premium for...
I wouldn't be worried about missing out on that one, definitley not a "CA" car; it still had salt on the spare from wherever it was from and likely was hiding more rust. And $21k!? Good lord i'm getting old.
Saw this and thought it was worth passing along if anyone was interested.

If it has Navigation, that's a hard pass. With 33's your speedo is off, unless that's been addressed (not likely). I'd scour the underside and topside for leaks (VC gaskets, PS hoses etc.). If it's truly rust free; starts, runs, drives, stops; i'd be at about $9kk max. Seats are easy to restore...
That's funny, I ONLY shop in CA/AZ for vehicles, sometimes the PNW or down into NM but 90% in CA. I only buy a vehicle or two every other year but I gladly pay the premium. Now, having said that, the LC in question is a hard pass. I don't wan't anything that's been opened up by the previous...
I wouldn't pay more than $6,500 for it. You've got crap paint, doesn't matter to some but it does to me. Close to $3k in interior/upholstery work, again doesn't matter to some. Seems pretty darn haggard for only 150k miles. The accumulation of brake dust that was recently washed off, along If...
I definitely agree, i'll only add that it depends on what you're looking for. I really don't want anything newer than 2008/2010, somewhere in there; over the summer I was looking to buy a 3rd Gen 4Runner, and couldn't kind one that checked the boxes for under $10k. I've got to figure that was...
Picked up a 1998 LX with 250k for $11k. In my opinion I paid about $4k too much, but it checked the majority of the boxes. It's also in the shop now looking about about $5k in repairs
My take away is that in the $9500 - $12000 price point these things still move quick. Anything lower...

We're looking to get into RVing while the kids are little so wanting to sell or trade the 2007 Power Wagon. I love this truck and had always wanted one, I just do NOT use it as intended. I daily drove it for a bit, but it just sits now. However, I wouldn’t hesitate to drive it...
Oh I must've overlooked that and thought I saw it on the webpage. Yeah that's a ridiculous price, they're just not worth that, regardless of what's bolted on.
I agree with you on price, but I will say I appreciate the guy at least provide A LOT of good quality images, and not wasting people's time with vague info, poor pictures, and "Call for price" bs. Looks clean.
