Information seems to be scarce on this. Does anyone know if a regular 15" stock cruiser rim will fit the HJ45 ('77) which has 16" stock rims? I was told the drum brakes on the hj are too big. I didn't realize HJs had larger drum brakes?
Anyone got a pic of their B engine draft tube? mine doesn't have one and I can't find a picture of what this looks like anywhere. Can't seem to find a B engine diagram anywhere either. I'd like to add one but because the PO deleted it for some odd reason...
Thanks
After pulling the t-case 3 times and the engine once, welding the camshaft oil seal shut, replacing the rear main seal twice, resealing the oil pan, putting a new valve cover seal on, the SAME EXACT leaking still appears. It runs down from the right rear of the engine. My only guess now is that...
I'm in need of a slave cylinder for a 1980 bj40, mine blew out. I don't want to fork out $100 for a new one if someone out there has a used one they could send me,
Thanks!
I've taken the transmission out twice already on my 40. Replaced the rear main and the camshaft oil seal. The rear camshaft seal oil leak persists. I'm about ready to weld that damn thing shut. I'd like someone else to do this who has a lift since I don't want to do it again with a floor jack.
I rebuilt my wiper switch and noticed it only had one contact plate in it. There are holes for two of these however. It is only turning the wipers on at one speed so I am wondering if it is missing a plate? I put it into the back two holes like the one pictured below from coolerman's page. His...
I was wondering as I haven’t found any info yet whether there’s any difference to installing a Saginaw power steering conversion on a hj45 with a straight six diesel?
I'm surprised that I can't find a part number anywhere for a rear main seal for a B diesel engine. So here's a thread for one.
All i've come up with is #90311-95001 90311-95001 - Genuine Toyota SEAL, ENGINE REAR OIL
but that references the 3B and not the B. I assume they are the same?
It also...
Have a 1981 BJ40. I've taken out my 4sp transmission twice now. The clutch is new and is not slipping but I thought it was.
The 40 takes a big dump on insignificant hills and just can't climb. There was a little shaking to go along with it. I don't know the 3B diesel engines well. But it sounds...
This high pitch noise is coming from the front of my 3B engine. it sounds like a low whistle and its coming from the front..one of the pulleys? sprayed water on them while it was running but no change. The alternator is new so that would leave the harmonizor and water pump/fan. Any ideas? maybe...
