Dobinsons 3 inch Progressive / Flexi coil review

If you have a good amount of accessories and would like a dual rate coil with long travel design in mind the tapered series would be the ideal coil. We only offer them in 2.5" or 3.5" lift heights. Otherwise the normal 3" linear coils would be just fine!

Dobinsons 3 inch Progressive / Flexi coil review

Hey, These coils are in stock, see links below. Now keep in mind this is a Flexi design, being progressive and long travel in mind. You can still use it with non long travel shocks but they ride best with a stock weighted vehicle or light accessories. Dobinsons Flexi Coil Springs for Toyota...

    bump stop design/what to avoid

Jeremy went with our 4"-5" shocks to pair up with the 2.5" tapered coils. This is what i have in my notes for bump stop extensions for those shocks. 4"-5" shocks: GS45-912 needs about half inch of bump stop extension with a minimum of 525 coil length GS59-687 - needs a 2” bump extension...

Dobinsons 3” Flexi or Dobinsons 2.5 regular?

The Flexi coils are better for light vehicles kinda like rock crawlers per say. I would say the Tapered coils do a better job for overland rigs with bumpers and accessories. Otherwise the linear coils still do the job and with our shocks the ride is very good.

    Good shock replacement needed

Hey Mate, As per our catalog the front we use the GS59-637 but we have two other options being longer in length and softer valving. The GS59-701 being a little softer and the GS59-705 being much softer. Both are slightly bigger pin up top and not 100% sure on the solid block bush if it will be...

Height of front after a 1.5” dobinsons lift

We don't make Monster shocks for this platform. What we probably recommended was IMS monotube shocks for the front, as our normal GS59-782 shock length suits the 1.5" lift but if you crank up the torsion bars to yield 2.5" lift in the front the shocks won't have any down travel that is why we...

Height of front after a 1.5” dobinsons lift

@cmck is correct 100% now the rear coils @kuhyuan probably running is the C59-167 which is 30mm lift with 100kgs of constant load, if there isn't any extra weight then it will essentially lift more. We have another rear coil option C59-169 which only lifts 10mm.
