I had a local pro do the install. The material is top quality but I think the installer is key to how they turned out. It was not an easy job so choose a pro. The best guys are usually at high end hot rod shops.
thanks for the comments. It was a real long process. The Wagoneer restorers in Texas have the exact match kits. They are glossy and like the original. I choose to use a 3M wrap called DiNoc. It is a Matte finish which I think looks better than the gloss. It is not cheap but any vinyl...
Perfect addition to my new shop project. My wife even said "I've never seen one" better grab it" So neat, I have 5 cruisers, have been on the forum for years and I had no idea this existed! So cool!
Don't' often post but just finished a clay bar and hand wax of wife's daily. 2013 with 67k. Just can't justify in my mind for the price of that new TTV6 LX yet. May just pay up for a late LC V8 when I am ready to trade.
All good. I am the same way That decal placement bugs the crap out of me too. It was wrecked in 1999. Pre-internet repair so it was a wild guess where that decal went to a local small town body shop man. The paint is nearly flawless and has held up well thank goodness.
Indeed good points Dan. Your opinion is respected.
1.) Emblem was installed prior to my ownership 20 years ago after a repaint.
2.) Fender flare extensions are an on-going contemplation of mine. They may come off.
3.) "Restoration" means something to me as well as I spent a year of...
Parked my restored 80 in my new shop for the holiday weekend. I haven't posted anything in months as this building has consumed me for over a year. I will display all off my LC in this building in the near future. Been a while since I could bring her in but the shop is nearing completion.
I just bought a 9400 sq ft warehouse for my toy collection. going to use part of it for a farm shop/machine shed and part for a retail office space. It should work out great!
Wow! Just had time to catch up on your old 40th sale posting and see you have found a great looking 62! Congrats. Now, build that garage and go looking for another 80:)
It is an easy job that can be screwed up by the wrong person or parts. I ended up using a Toyota dealer as master techs get assigned these jobs as they are quick moneymakers for them. You get factory parts, a full parts and service warranty and a written record. I did both of my 100's in the...
I had the guys at Adventure Motors finish a frame for me. They cleaned it, sprayed a film and sealed it up. I looks pretty good but was expensive. The only issue I have found is it seems to draw moisture. On a damp day it becomes pretty nasty and oily. It will protect your rig but it...
That cable run is a night mare. splicing it was a good decision!!! An early FJ80 antenna mast replacement is a another nightmare altogether that I hope to never face again.
I am very familiar with BAT. Your presence here on MUD will help sell your truck. There are very few trolls on BAT but one or two will freak out about the rust on the running gear. If you had a dry ice blaster center near you, it might be the best $2000 you ever spent. In fact, that is...
