    Whining noise, from ~600-1800rpms

Hey all (and OP if still around). Having same noise and noticed alt gauge was reading a little low but only for a short while. No issues starting etc. have been towing recently and using alt to charge the van battery and a second one is the back of the cruiser so maybe all linked… anyway will...

    Rear view Mirror wobble

Can confirm this is a PITA to put back together! My wobble was from the 2 small screws that attach black surround onto the windscreen mount. Tightened them up then eventually got it back together. Issue is the little spring doesn’t want to stay put whilst you screw the main mirror part into...

    What does this plug do??

Ta. Seems strange that it would do that due to the plug missing as it is hardly an airtight place with the plug inserted. Will be ordering a couple of them ASAP

    What does this plug do??

Hey all, Swapped out the rear discs/rotors on the cruiser and the old ones had a plug in them (see bottom right of pic) and stupid me threw out the old rotors with this plug in still... I presume it is needed for some reason, but what does this plug do?? Anyone got a part #?

    Horn relay location

You could def do this but a lot of work involved. Haven't had an issue with mine the past 12 months it has been in so not sure all the effort is needed? You could always just do as I did and if there was a problem down the track you could then do all the rooting around to check out the original...

    10 Minute Rear Shock Install

Great info contained in this thread. Completed the new shock/spring instal over the weekend using the holesaw method. Didn't do any measuring, just eyed the pictures in this thread and drilled the second rib in from the side and bingo - straight above the top nut! From there it was a...

Interior lights / dome fuse blowing repeatedly

hey all. had the same issue with no interior lights one day and it was due to a stripped wire going to the drivers side sun visor light. The visor fell out and the cable rubbed on the metal exposing the wire. result = fuse blown (and kept blowing).

Dome fuse keeps blowing help PLEASE!!!

I should add I have a 100 series but a stripped wire is a stripped wire!

Dome fuse keeps blowing help PLEASE!!!

would like to share my cause - a bare wire in the sun visor connection. The visor was loose (i.e. Falling out) and when I touched the screws to tighten it up it fell out, suspended by the wires going to the light in the sun visor mirror. The hole for the wires is bare metal and it skinned the...

    Oil pressure gauge reading unstable

Check your owners manual. Sounds like it is in the normal range to me.

advice/input on aftermarket Torsion bars w/stock suspension components

Yeah sag isn't the word - torsional rigidity perhaps? Am going to tighten them a touch to gain that dropped inch if I can and see how it goes.

advice/input on aftermarket Torsion bars w/stock suspension components

Whilst on TBs, do they sag over time? My truck is 13 years old or so, and my front end is prob an inch below "normal" height so hardly an issue, but just wondering if they are like springs in so much that age will weary them and make them sag a bit (happens to the best of us!)?

advice/input on aftermarket Torsion bars w/stock suspension components

Make sure you use chassis stands!! And to measure droop I would jack the truck up until the wheels are clear of the ground, measure, then drop to ground and measure again. No need to be judging if wheels are almost off the ground like this guy in the vid did - just pump up so they are clear off...

Presume a wheel alignment was done after the lift?

    Shock bolt prices

Yeah thought about reusing but the FSM or parts diagram said to replace so thought it best. My new shocks aren't OEM so maybe that's why no bolts included. I'm expecting something extraordinary to appear out of the rear shock bolt packet when I open it given the price :D

    Shock bolt prices

Not a huge deal but just interested in what people are paying the $tealers for new shock bolts? Just about to do a front and rear shock change on my '03 LC UZJ and ordered some lower bolts in at A$8ea for the fronts and A$19ea for the rears! We seem to get torn a new one in Australia...

    Removing center console trim

I have an 03 LC and did this today. Popped out a couple of blanks in front of the cup holders which allowed me to get a bit of grip on the console. Started at the cup holder end and gave it a tug and it popped out nicely. Worked my way up by popping the 2 centre clips then the final 2 clips at...

    Horn relay location

change of plan after speaking to my brother who is a sparky - leave everything where it is and just use the existing horn wire at the horn for the feed into the new relay to give it power and run all the usual wires needed to wire up a new horn - simple! Solves the issue of using the crappy...
