Howdy - have a question. I'm a TLCA member, and have had my 60 for a few years now. My rig was featured in the Jan/Feb 2017 issue of Toyota Trails: Toyota Trails - January/February 2017 Issue
I have been delinquent about getting my PMC paperwork done. I live only about 5 minutes form the...
Two things. First, there are no exposed "oil lines" on the FJ60/62 oil cooler system. All the lines running to/from the cooler "brick" on the side of the engine block are carrying coolant - not oil. Oil enters and exits the cooler in passages where is mates/bolts down to the side of the engine...
All stock, CA smog legal. 87 w/156K miles. Lots of nick-nack replacement work, and time with a rag soaked in Simple Green. Especially after a roading trip. I like to work on clean equipment, and I can see leaks quickly. (I know - the 2F sticker on the AC assembly is not stock, but I like it.)

As 60 owners, and LCs in general, we...
I have run mine for hours down the highway in the 2700 rpm range. Corrected for tire size percentage difference (running 235/85/16s so about 32.5 inches) that puts me right near 65 mph. Run 6-8 hours at a time, and pull grades - if steep, in 3rd of course.
As stated above, with the over...
