Car is in Toronto, long way from me!
I will keep an eye on the auction tomorrow and throw some low bids at it.
If I end up with it I will start looking for some "friends" in Canada!
Rusty
Not past relevant, the auction date was changed to next week.
Not being concerned with saving the vehicle I really wouldn't have a problem of finding a salvage yard along the way, cut it in half on the trailer and just giving the salvage yard the other half.
With a sawzall it wouldn't take...
Just wondering how strict they are at the border crossing?
Don't see why I can't trailer it across, strip what I need and get rid of the rest?
Or even drive it across on dealer transport tags or something?
Would they stop you at the border and confiscate it?
I don't want to drive it, RHD and...
I asked this question last year but found another 92 HDJ81 at a salvage auction in Canada, no damage to it so it might go high but would love to pick it up cheap and use it to transplant the driveline into my 97.
Is it possible to maybe purchase it, find a shop in Canada to remove the running...
Car is in London, Ontario, near Detroit.
Not sure about just taking my chances, I would go pick it up with a trailer and part it out when I got back home. Just want to make sure I can get it across the border before I even think about it.
Surely someone has tried this?
Rusty
Found a 92 HDJ81 in Canada, complete vehicle, even has what appears to be a factory winch built into a stock looking bumper.
Want to buy it for parts, it is cheap enough with plenty of good parts.
Just wondering what is involved in getting it into the USA as a half-cut?
Can I just cut it in...
Problem solved! I guess always check the obvious first!
The fusible link that was replaced with a splice was the problem. I pulled the electrical tape off the splice, removed the worthless plastic/aluminum side by side splicer and noticed rust, corrosion on the wires and it appeared the aluminum...
George, thanks, have not looked at page 188, will do that now but might take me back to the fusible links
Will pull the circuit opening relay and check for power to pin 1. I guess I could also check for power to the 7.5A fuse to see if it is making it there from the battery.
thanks
Rusty
Ok, back to the original question, power to the fuel pump relay. My above post about the fusible link, I don't think that is the problem because the fuses are good but I do need to replace it.
Power though, from looking at the wiring diagram it looks like the pin 1, the white/red wire that goes...
Ok, I suspect the FL MAIN 2.0L white wire, fusible link.
It is the one that was bypassed with a pretty heavy gauge wire.
Also there is not a 10 amp fuse in the ECU B slot in the box in the dash, this is one of the places this white wire ends up? Should there be?
In the same fuse box under dash...
George, thanks for the reply,
Yes, CEL comes on, actually was on previously but that is a sign the ECU is working right?
Fusible links have 12V at the bolt connector in the black plastic cover, still grease on the nuts so I think they are good.
Everything comes on the dash as normal with the...
Ok, no start issue. I have a 97 FZJ80 that I only drive a few times a month, 180,000 miles.
About 6 months ago it died while idling, thought that was strange but it started right back up and ran fine.
It has run without issue until the other day. I changed the belts started it up and it idled...
centrifuge
Rodney, just noticed your post, I am not on as much anymore but still check in from time to time.
Anyway, I have a dieselcraft centrifuge that I built about 5 years ago?
To answer your questions, first I collect the WVO in 5 gallon buckets, let it settle for a couple weeks then pour...
About the Mercedes, I owned a Mercedes G350DT (G wagen) with the OM603. It had a very rare factory intercooler installed, power was right at 160 hp.
The G Wagen is about the same weight as the Land Cruiser and even less aerodynamic, truly a brick on wheels.
The OM603 moved the G just fine...
Just a heads up, selling my old 94 6.2 diesel conversion for the current owner.
Had a build thread on it here on Mud

Got everything sorted out now and it runs great!
If you are thinking about a...
Thanks for the correction, was hopping nobody would notice the hatchet job I did trimming the bumper cover. I was in a bit of a hurry.
No problem though, I am going to pull it back off, paint the bumper and patch the bumper ends so they will look good again, I little flexible parts repair...
