Great job on that! Looks totally original. I have an hj61 24v. i think the lock switch would work from a switch doctor 12v one since the lock switch is simply a ground interrupter. Any thoughts on that? Thanks guys
Hey sorry for late reply. Yeah I just tried to dump it out- and none came out. I refitted everything as I said above, filled with the system with r134/pag. And it works just fine. My ‘car AC guy’ filled it to the ‘correct pressures’….but did not tell me the quantity….🧐. So sorry about that. Hope...
Hey I know this is old thread revived. I’m dealing with this right now and I want to solder the 2 ends as you did. In your pics what exactly did you solder? Ty!
CRTX - did you ever get this fixed? I have same problem. I’ve read about soldering the 2 contact points together and the it’s ‘fixed’ in the unlocked position allowing you to use all windows but not allowing you to lock them, which is fine with me. Did you end up soldering them? Or replacing the...
So actually I only need the inside plastic covering of the latch (that the screws go through) on the door.
I have an hj61- so I think it would be same as 62. this piece- in the pic
thanks

hey all. I know old thread.
I just broke my original glove box door latch. Does anyone have a old one they aren't using after installing the locking latch? happy to pay for it and shipping.
thanks,
jay
old thread - I'm in the process of doing the 134 switch and all is going ok. but how do you 'completely drain all the oil from the compressor'? I removed it and tried 'dumping it out' but no oil came out. I really don't want to take it all apart, but I will if I have to.
Is it unsafe to...
I checked on that...but no luck...so far
funny in that ebay pic the evap is oposite of what I need. that pic shows the typical left hand drive evap, and I need the mirror image
old thread. But I have a similar problem. I’m trying to replace the evaporator core in my right hand drive HJ 61. The only evaporators I can find online are for left hand drive vehicles. Evaporators have the exact same dimension but the tubes are on opposite sides and therefore won’t work. Does...
Update: R12 evacuated and cooler box is out. I’m going to replace the pressure switch while everything is apart. In other mud posts some people have put product part numbers up but so far I can not find the listed products. Now I’ve found other pressure switches (four seasons HVAC binary switch...
I gotta tell you I just love these forums because you learn so much. So thanking everyone in this thread for their input.
So as I do the conversion to r134, at the end of the day is there a consensus as to what new R/D part# we should use? and easiest place to get it?
Since i'm a little too...
You know typically I would totally agree but it was so sudden. One day (and for the last 3 years that I’ve owned the vehicle) it’s blowing icicles….and then out of nowhere without warning it’s not. There wasn’t that gradual less and less cold air and then one day it’s out.
pin any case my...
Hey there. I know…old thread. I have an hj61 and it just started blowing warm. I think it’s my expansion valve, but further diagnostics are necessary. Although as of right now I can’t find anyone to purge my R12. So figured I’d do the r134a conversion.
Do you have part numbers for the...
Thanks buddy. I’ll let you know how things go. I’m not actually completely sure where the problem; I just know I got in the truck yesterday to run an errand and no AC! It usually blows like ice. I don’t think it’s the compressor because you can hear/feel that slight pull on the vehicle when you...
