    New 2006 LX in Virginia

Oooh...sweet. Are you going to pick a fun color for the final coat? Fluorescent Green or something to help you find parts you unintentionally leave behind on the trail? Or to attract rescuers if you roll? I'm kidding, of course...but might be fun! By the way, I'm still in love with the...

The ABCs of AHC - How to Measure, Flush, and Adjust all in one place

I have these two rear accumulators that passed the pencil test if anyone wants them. (I replaced all 4 accumulators when my fronts failed.) I don’t know how much longer these will be good but the price is right! $20 for both, plus shipping. Please PM me if you’re interested so we don’t clog this...

    New 2006 LX in Virginia

Silly question: How are the extension platforms secured down to the truck? If a load secured to your L-track was properly motivated wouldn't it just take the platform with it? I've been thinking about a modified plate that replaces the plastic step your platform is resting on with an aluminum...

    LX470 HID Retrofit Project

I just bought the glass lensed headlamps from a local Lexus dealership. They were $367.51 each (running a sale for Christmas) List is $645.03. I see them on LexusPartsNow.com for a similar price, though. Part numbers: 81170-60802 LH with glass lenses 81130-6A082 RH with glass lenses Lexus...

    MLED 2.0 Thoughts?

I agree about the tech and like the high beam pattern a little better. I wish they were 5000K instead of 6300K, but I did end up ordering them, anyway. I have a 2006 LX. I’m looking for a good source for glass lenses/headlights so I can take my time with the swap.

    MLED 2.0 Thoughts?

Hey Scott, what did you decide? I'm planning to retrofit over the holidays and trying to decide between the MLED2 and DS2 5.0...To answer your original question...the video I reviewed linked below showed that the LED version puts out more candela: Also, from their description: Output...

Hahaha! Good idea! No problem. Happy to help.

The ABCs of AHC - How to Measure, Flush, and Adjust all in one place

I suggest you try it and find out. The two things I’ve noticed that bother me when I forget to switch it back is that I can’t lock the doors from my remote (it thinks the hatch is open and makes that annoying tone) and the unlock-auto-relock logic fails if the hatch is open but thinks it’s...

The ABCs of AHC - How to Measure, Flush, and Adjust all in one place

I cut the black/white wire and added the black wire, spade terminals that I crimped myself, and wire nuts. I haven't traced it out to figure out exactly what's happening but here's what I imagine is happening: You're interrupting the white/black wire from the sensor that tells the vehicle...

The ABCs of AHC - How to Measure, Flush, and Adjust all in one place

Here are some photos of the install (Admins, please let me know if there’s a better place to post this, as it’s a little off topic). I have a video I can send, too, which demonstrates the functioning of the switch and how it affects the AHC. If there’s enough interest, I’ll figure out how to...

The ABCs of AHC - How to Measure, Flush, and Adjust all in one place

Hmm...that's weird. I just looked again and the current USD to JPY conversion puts them at $112 each for me. If you're going to replace all four globes, you will need two of 49141-60010 and two of 49151-60010. (In my opinion, the term "kit" is misleading as there's only one part in each "kit.")

The ABCs of AHC - How to Measure, Flush, and Adjust all in one place

Update: Wow, friends...such an incredible difference!! My accumulators arrived from IMPEX Japan on Wednesday so I spent a couple hours that night bleeding, draining, lubricating, torquing, removing, replacing, etc. and then I decided to work on the AHC. (jk) It was about a 2 hour job for me...

The ABCs of AHC - How to Measure, Flush, and Adjust all in one place

I added a circuit interrupting switch into my hatch so that I could leave it open with the lights off (without switching from DOOR) and now my AHC will cycle with the door open. It was really easy: cut the sensor wire coming from the lock and install a SPST switch. When the switch is closed, it...

The ABCs of AHC - How to Measure, Flush, and Adjust all in one place

Long-time reader, first-time poster. I owe many of you several beers for the trouble you’ve saved me over the years. I wanted to share some fun numbers for you from my current AHC maintenance/troubleshooting quest. My 99.5% stock ride (2006 LX470) has been very bouncy lately. I think one...
