There is zero reason to use the cotter pin style clamps when you can get an OEM constant tension spring clamp. I've replaced all of the pin clamps on my truck with spring clamps and they're just fine. Plus they're re-usable if you need to disassemble/service something. They're a tight fit...

It would appear my 1995 model FZJ 80 does not have the auto up/down feature. Guess that was limited to Lexus versions and the 1997 40th anniversary models in the US?
Yeah, not bad. Just redrill the one stone backing plate to move it out 13mm. They're made for a 70 series so they aren't a perfect fit but they're pretty close. I'll need to use some 3M tape once I figure out where they'll be positioned fore/aft. Right now I'm still fine tuning that part.
Installed some new-to-me door cards all around. New window regulators/motors from Cruiser Outfitters, added some sound deadening to the inside of the doors, new vapor barriers, new window seals along the inside of the door panels, and some One Stone armrests. Also added an Alpine Apple CarPlay...
I just had a new aftermarket windshield installed and I supplied a new OEM Gasket last week. Fits great and the clarity is on par with OEM glass. It's labeled a "FUYAO" brand.
Local windshield shop had to order it, but got it in a week or so. It was ~$300 installed, with the $65 gasket I...
ahhh- sorry I misread that it had already been removed.
A cursory look shows that blue wire with the white tracer that is cut is the power (+) to all other door lock actuators when it comes out of the drivers door lock actuator and door lock control relay. I'd guess that there is another end...
Thanks for chiming in. I agree adhesion would be iffy. I'm curious how that SeaDek stuff would hold up. It's badass on boats and coolers, not sure it'd like being on a tailgate...but they do use it on RV steps and such too. I'll do some more digging...
While I don't have any experience with that particular system, I've played with several others over the years.
*Most* of them tee into factory wiring or interrupt a factory circuit. You can likely trace the harness from the main box of the audiovox and find where it has plugs that tee into a...
so has anyone who has one of these come up with a pad/carpet solution? I'm thinking a custom Seadek foam panel or the like would be slick.
I don't dare ask @Delta VS for fear of public ridicule 🤣
Weird. Mine doesn't auto extend/retract but works fine from the dash button. OEM radio and amp, all wiring intact.
Swapped to a new radio today and still no change. Guess I need to study the EWD.
I'm looking for the following oddball parts:
Passenger side front grab handle w/bolts (top, not pillar)?
2nd row seat bolt covers (plastic bits that cover the fasteners that hold the seats to the floor- 2 per seat)?
I believe we've made a deal and that coffee table is going on the roof of my 80 early next month! I may still be waiting on the machine shop, so I might as well keep moving on other aspects of the money pit!
