How do you like your FJ Cruiser?

I owned an '06 TRD edition and here are my two bits on the FJ: + Very capable in stock form, especially thanks to the factory rear locker Very comfortable and overall pleasant driving experience I personally enjoyed the driving position, triple wiper, and overall feel of the truck both on and...

    FJ60 4BT/AA Ranger Torque Splitter/H55F/Split T/C

I agree with you on the RPM range and that is the main thing that attracts me to the H55F/AARTS combo since you'd basically always have the right gear for the situation, being able to always stay in the safe zone and maintain descent MPG's.

    FJ60 4BT/AA Ranger Torque Splitter/H55F/Split T/C

That is true but being able to split gears in 4WD would be fun... That seems to be about right for the 4BT. I heard 4" of lift is the minimum needed for such a conversion. Not aware of any dry sump systems available in the AM but that would keep the CG down... Does anyone know of one...

    FJ60 4BT/AA Ranger Torque Splitter/H55F/Split T/C

Thanks! I checked out his rig, seems like he's quite happy with the setup C303 axles would be another nice addition but the 5.99 gears seem a bit slow. Custom-made portals would be ideal, like the ones Marks 4WD in OZ makes for Nissans, which come with discs, lockers and air-actuated front hubs...

    FJ60 4BT/AA Ranger Torque Splitter/H55F/Split T/C

correction: .84:1 (AA in 1:1 and H55F in 5th) .73:1 (AA in OD and H55f in 4th) .61:1 (AA in OD and H55F in 5th)

    FJ60 4BT/AA Ranger Torque Splitter/H55F/Split T/C

Has anyone ever tried this combination? I understand this would yield three overdrive gears - .84:1 (AA in 1:1 and H55F) .73:1 (AA in OD and H55f in 4th) .61:1 (AA in OD and H55F in 5th) So technically, this would give you 10 forward speeds in 2WD, but practically 7 that you would actually...

    Tow vehicle/trailer/camper for transporting a 60?

That's a cool setup... I love the overkill factor with the 5500/3-axle equipment trailer combo.

    Tow vehicle/trailer/camper for transporting a 60?

I guess you're right, none of that stuff is light and it adds up pretty quickly. Still, adding almost a ton of stuff to a 60 seems like a lot of extra strain, but then again, they're built to handle it. One of my old 60's had a 4bt mated to an H55F via a ranger torque splitter... 4 inch lift...

    Tow vehicle/trailer/camper for transporting a 60?

I don't understand how everyone here keeps coming up with +/- 6000lbs figures for FJ60's. I've owned 3 of them and they don't weigh anywhere near that. Curb weight for the 60 series is about 4300 with full fuel, and I can't imagine having 1500 to 1700lbs of gear into one (to make 6000lbs). Heck...
