I have a set with brand new never mounted lowers, and used uppers with only the most marginal wear. These are black, and the 'better' version that could easily pass for OEM. I believe I paid something on the order of $600 for these.

i have been using the MAF ($$$) adapter for months now with the supplied hardware which works just fine.
on the thermal issue side, the aluminum piece gets really hot.
it would have been better if they had made it a tad shorter and allowed for an insulator.
bottom line, don't worry about...
It works
The relay rod is a bit over an inch longer than the drag link rod. It may be a bolt in change for many, but I removed about 1/2 inch from each side of the relay rod and voila, it's now a drag link at about half Toyota's price.
My cursory examination suggests they are essentially the same, with the relay rod just slightly longer. Given the price disparity of the parts, I was wondering if the relay rod shortened up a bit would work. Anybody got experience or a view??

I used the energy suspension mounts on my 78. To say the job was awful would be kind. On the upside, once I was done torching out the old rubber and bending sawzall blades from contortional positions the finished product offered a far more comfortable ride.

Will longer shackles change the shackle angle?
