i did take everything back apart ad checked my work, i found nothing wrong. it came apart easy and went back together easy too. day 2 with the ecm R+R and still idling fine......not to sure what to think about this!
That is what I was thinking, right now it is running fine after ecm removal and re installation. Possibly a bad connection on a pin? Not sure.... I will wait and see. I cleaned all the grounds and checked continuity to ground from the harness and the bolt it goes to. Checked the simple stuff...
Carbon clean? Intake removal and carbon build up is removed... pretty common issue if the EGR leaks like mine did. And it idled fine before hand. I checked everything for leaks and found none. It idles fine when the ecm is reset. But slowly the IAC opens and bumps up the idle after each key...
So I did a carbon clean to the old 3fe and now every time I cycle the key the idle goes up slowly 100rpm per cycle and stops at 1200rpm. Removed cleaned and tested IAC according to the fsm. Iac works fine. No intake leaks. If I plug the inlet to the iac it idles perfectly. If I reset the ecm it...

Hmmm okay. I will have a look at them next. I found my FPR was not connected at all. Along with a s*** load of wiring mistakes. Slowly making my way through it. Egr delete is done I used the same link to do it. Thanks :)
The thermostat is new and fan clutch is working great. i was thinking the cats are plugged but i am going to replace the FPD and the FPR first and re check my mileage. i reset the ecm already too!
thanks !
I am well aware my truck is 24 haha. My other rig is 34 years old, I just wanted to make sure if there is a way to check the FPR and FPD to verify operation. I am well aware parts wear out and need to be replaced. not my first or last 20+ year old Toyota.
I will see availability of the FPR and...
With the engine hot i performed a fuel pressure drop test and found the fuel injectors and cold start injector not leaking at all. i used 3 cans of injector cleaner over the course of a month and it cleaned them right out.
i will look into a replacement charcoal canister on Monday :)
