You'd be realllly surprised how little oxidation it takes to have a significant diffusing effect on the beam pattern. Definitely ceramic coat that headlight a few times to help keep it from oxidizing if you haven't already. Wax never seems to last.
If that was almost 8 years ago, might not be a bad idea to just send it and replace it. It might be OK since San Fransisco has relatively mild summers/winters and remains humid, but peace of mind means a lot and it's not too difficult a job if you're used to working on stuff. If it was...
I mis-spoke. I’m talking about weird use case scenarios where you need to turn immediately after using it and sometimes waiting for the e locker can be detrimental. Any locker won’t disengage under load but if you’re in a weird scenario and need that instant disengagement, e locker can’t do...
Rear e-locker is fine. If you're going to do a front locker in any IFS vehicle it should be an air locker. E-lockers need to be unloaded in order for them to be disengaged. The last thing you want is a broken axle or differential because you couldn't disengage the front e-locker due to it being...
Tubbing is complete on this bad boy. Turns 75% or more lock to lock at full shock compression which will never happen due to bump stops engaging prior. I've attached a few crude photos of the process to show the intake as I actually had to raise it 2" for the tubs, and the snorkel still fits...
Sorry i missed this one. I am running Revolution 4.88 gears and ARB front Air locker. I can't recall the prefeliter but you can get them from snorkelupgrade.com
Made some progress on the tubs over the last few days and the drivers side is nearly complete. I ended up relocating the fuse box back about 5-6 inches so that I could rotate the Group 31 battery front to back. With the protrusion into the engine bay from the tubs, the battery was no longer...
Thank you!
Water system is getting close to being dialed. I've got everything mounted up and the pump functions great! Last bit is to mount the rear sprayer which is giving me a hard time due to lack of space back there but i've got a few ideas.
I've also started clearancing/fitting the front...
I was hoping that I would have had more time to document and keep this up to date as the build went on, however, it was insane crunch time and did barely had time to sleep while preparing all the new stuff for expo. I'm still putting finishing touches on the rig, so i'll try and catch up best I...
Hey boss sorry for the late reply, It's been crazy for me over the past few weeks getting ready for expo and then winding down haha. Anyways yeah i had similar issues and it will depend on how far forward your tent is mounted. All tents will have wind noise. The custom fairing is mounted to...
37s arrived and I started test-fitting and cutting the body.
I'm not running a body lift, and am clearancing for full stuff compression. I also am using 1.25" spacers to somewhat match the front long travel, but moreso that i get the proper clearancing for when i eventually do a wider axle in...
Going to be giving these CVJ +2 Long Travel Axles a shot. Talking with the guy there, they're hardened completely unlike surface hardening from some other manufacturers. Obviously he's going to think his product is better and I have no way of verifying really other than cutting a bunch of axles...
Cheers and thanks for being here mate 🤙
I have dropped bump stops already due to rear long travel and have plans to trim the door and bumper area. I don’t really have rubbing issues on my 35s in the rear except the pinch weld so not worried about the tubs proper themselves, but will definitely...
To make this usefull, you'd likely need to mention these details:
- How much weight you're carrying (front and rear) like winch, LRA, drawers, etc.
- How long has the kit been on? (Springs settle over time)
- What is your front preload set to
- What spring conversion are you running
There's so...
If my memory serves me correct you either have to pull the door panel to remove the harness or pull back the passenger rear interior panel near the bottom and there's a connector there to uplug. I can't recall if there was more to that but pick your poison.
