Again, thanks to everyone for another great day out on the desert trails, in great company  ! And another Forest Service Road in the inventory. Looks like we need to go after 1060 the next rime around... now it's time for
...and pretty soon there were four Cruisers on that rock
looked like the perfect service bay, and the Taco wasn't that far behind. If you wanted to see the K5, well, that's on another forum...;) ;p
And note, in contrast to a recently posted poser pic of a certain black LX, there...
Turns out that FR1856 connects from the intersection with FR1096 down to Upper Sycamore Creek, thru the SuperHighway wash. Beautiful desert, rolling terrain, easy cruisin'.
Well, today's run was to determine where FR1856 went. As usual, we got lost right after airing down, inadvertently trespassed onto the Rez, avoided a tussle with two LEO's by swamping them with trail numbers info and a map they didn't have, came back to the straight and narrow. Drove some 2-3...
It should be mentioned for any newcomers that the rocks above were optional. So if you didn't want to do it, you could just drive the bypass. Which I did  . We don't do the peer pressure stuff.
OK, maybe a little. ;p :grinpimp:
and a few of Michael in the K5, where the line is always more up and over, instead of in between them rocks...
.... and by the way, Michael sez if some of you guys want to be serious, then you gotta get yerself some rock lights mounted underneath your rides...:D :grinpimp:
All right...
except for Michael yapping away with a K5 buddy on the patio - no end in sight ;p  - we will make every effort to be on time tomorrow ;) :D
maybe I should be more hesitant with that broker zipper on the softtop ? :flipoff2:
The trail winds itself through valleys with dense desert vegetation, and there's something timeless about a picture of an FJ40 on a desert trail... even if it's one that doesn't sound right :D . Michael said the 350 sounded just fine - but that't the Chevy guys talking... ;) . We came...
Here's a few pictures from yesterday's run through Telegraph Canyon:
Weather was overcast with a few intermittent sprinkles, we got the 'getting lost' part of the trip right out of the way before we even hit dirt :D , so there's our little group...
yup, plans - no details yet ;)
Michael wants to do something off of Beeline, since he has to put the truck back in storage in Fountain Hills before 6p.m.
I could show you my rear door sill, if there was any left of it :flipoff2: as it were, there is silicone sealer in it's place so that the rear bed stays dry :hillbilly:
Yes. The bumper situation on the '40 has resulted in some issues, but that should be resolved by tomorrow nite.
Can't you ask some easier questions? :D
How about this: as Carl suggested earlier, we drive in via Telegraph Canyon; this comes out at Ajax mine. So that would allow for some...
