Long time cummin!
The day is finally here, I drove the big blue beastie off the lot at LCNW after almost 3 years into this project......
I've been without internet for a couple weeks trying to get this thing running, a bunch of hold ups, the main one being a rusty diesel tank.
I got word...
Update:
A day away, will have pics tomorrow, its pretty nasty out here today.....
Were waiting on the alternator, PITA i tell you, for some reason the voltage regulator doesn't hookup properly, we may end up just using a chevy one wire. ANy ideas from the 4bt crowd? It may have something to...
::UPDATE::
I just stopped by LNCW to see the big blue beastie......major progress! We've got new LCNW fab'd Motor Mounts, Sliders and they found an Intercooler that should work! I'll have pics soon. Man can't believe its been over two years!
it seems to fluctuate between just below the low hash mark and close to the bottom of the guage.
I'm pretty sure I have a rear main seal leak, threw some lucas oil stop leak in and its been much better.
I'll know more by the end of the week.

i had a volvo intercooler to put in but it wouldn't fit, so we just ran the intake through the grill to put one in later, still trying to find a good one that will fit. Any ideas??

Springtime Cruisin!!!
UPdate:::
After a long hiatus, the big blue beastie is back on the rack!!
Matt and Tony at LCNW pulled that nasty looking oil pan, cut and re-welded a proper fit to bypass the driveline, will have pics soon.
They straightened the frame where the semi crushed it at the spring hangars and...
There's a bunch of 80 series diesels on CL and they get the HJ70 series troopies too!! But whats the legal side?? I could see driving one back to the west coast no sweat, or having it shipped.
I would call Wanye at Carco, he'd give you the digs on border crossings for parts. I think if you were going to trailer it, you might as well get it shipped. I don't think you'd be able to drive it even if it is for parts, unless you get some Canadian to take a sweet GA vacation!
