No one, because it’s completely illogical.
The benefit of this combination is to put a 1FZ-FE in vintage Cruisers......not a vintage H55F in new.
I have an H151F, as well an H150F, both with HF1A mechanical cases, HD/HZ or FZ bell housing, flywheel and clutch......which is about 45% of...
$.00851 per mile. Doesn’t sound too bad a deal to me, but rebuilding isn’t a huge affair.
Find a core (if can’t do without) send with new sector shaft and few hundred to West Texas Off-road, and it’ll be as good as new for another 235k.
If you do change coils, order rears for PP80, if planning to run sans rear seats.
My 97 came with no sunroof or third row, and coils coincided with similar, non-US part numbers. Wouldn’t think it’d make that big of a difference, but when replaced everything as spec’d, ride is actually comfy...
A huge contributor to ride quality “harshness” are sub par shocks and 25 year old OEs would be better than Rancho, their purpose best served in triplicate on each corner of 24” lifted F-250s that shouldn’t be allowed on the street.
Best riding/handling 80 I’ve driven, and continue to DD, was...
Exactly what’d lessen the effort, but have had a hard time finding one that fits what was originally a VMJ73 (now HZJ73 with HD clutch that desperately needs booster) firewall/clutch master, having tried several variants from 7X lineup. (Haven’t had opportunity to make one fit).
Not sure if...
H15X/HF1A fits a 6X chassis, beautifully, and they’re readily available.
Having only long term experience with 1HZ/H55F combinations, both turbo’d, one with HD clutch, one without, I question whether or not even the HD clutch would maintain behind the 1FZ.
Un-boosted HD H55F clutch sucks like...
If memory serves, a 1FZ-F Head (carb’d, not EFI) that’s most likely non-hardened valve seats and low(er) compression variant, most likely in the combustion chamber, for low octane markets.
Yes, there’s a block off plate available to de-carb and yes, valve seats could be hardened, but...
Links are for buggies.....not station wagons.
All a waste of time.
Stock arms/links, 40s, removing anything that impedes travel.
Anything else is alchemy.
Been busy.....
HD/HZ bell pattern are the same, but FZ is remarkably different.
Great!
Now on to addressing the complexity (cost) of swapping 1FZ-FEs in vintage Cruisers....
H15XF/HF1A is better suited for the 1FZ-FE.
Hopefully, they accommodated for the 300mm clutch with HD springs...
Lest ye forget the 11th commandment, o’ ye of little faith:
Thou shalt not question the Shaman or his charge.
Inherent all I6 Cruiser DNA, a mantra chanted on the production line from onset through at least 80 production-
‘Keep it stupid simple’
Considering production overlaps/the various...
