I could swear I’ve seen a post that mentions this thing but can’t find it anymore. Does anyone know what this thing is? I am thinking about putting some power ports in that recess with a panel over it but wasn’t sure what that sensor was for.

Ahhh.....you are correct and the more I thought about it, that more acurately describes what I was looking for. Something that would only power up when the truck was in the ON position. My apologies for the earlier post where I had not thought it through completely.

By the way, where are the mythical grommets in the rear? Behind/under the panels in the cargo area? I haven’t gone searching too hard because I’ll need to remove my cargo platform before I can remove the panels. Not sure yet if I’ll run the positive under or through the cabin.

Yes, I believe the root cause (at least for me) is the swollen backing plate. However, removing one of those is a much more involved and expensive process. I'll grind rotors in 5 minutes until I need to replace the wheel bearings and then do the backing plates at the same time.
