I just bought some new wheels for my 68' 40 and was wondering why the brake drums have retaining screws (2)??? they stick out about a 1/4" and throw the wheel off a little. I'm going to chuck them. Does anybody have a reason why I shouldn't get rid of them?? thanks.

I'm looking to buy some steel wheels for my 68' 40 and was wondering what years use the same size wheel. I'm just concerned about back spacing and if the lug holes will line up. I went to the tire shop and they only have 1978 and up listed in their magic book. I'm looking for a 8" wide by 15"...

figured it out. there was a small rock lodged in the linkage. works much better now. thanks for the advice.

It has the dash mount lever and is in the off (2wd) position. Maybe the lever is not working? I'll double check. thanks.

still looking 68' 3spd floor conversion

I just purchased a 68' fj40 with three on the tree. when I get it into 3rd it will only go about 30mph. I've had a 78' and 80' with 4 spds and never had any tranny problems. Just want to pick some brains for possible causes. thanks.
