I'll definitely post photos of the stance as soon as it's off the lift out of the shop.
My dad owns a manual transmission shop (and let me borrow a lift for the suspension refresh!) and we decided to just go ahead and do the conversion to the 5-speed H55F while it was there but taking a little...
Ah, good to know! I think I got confused because two of them had Zerk fittings and two didn't. I could tell the ones that didn't had grease in them, so I didn't add any, but I'm used to greasing my own fittings, which is why I called it out. Thanks for sharing.
One additional piece of intel on the 555 tie rod ends that I forgot to mention: the lower ends don't come with Zerk fittings, which was a little surprising, but the size (M6) is common and they are pretty cheap.
Hey everyone, following up here with the actual suspension refresh. There were some major delays: the springs and shocks took months to come in, then I broke my wrist in a mountain biking accident and had to go through surgery and recovery. This past holiday weekend, though, I finally got around...
I'm trying to piece together my A/C before summer gets hot and I have almost everything I need. One of the last pieces is the tensioner bracket for the compressor that attaches it to the underside of the alternator. I can actually get the bracket, but SOR doesn't have the "adjustment bar", which...
Not sure if you saw the post about the tie rod ends, but I had posted the wrong link (for right and drive). Updated the link, but here it is for reference: Tie Rod End Kit - Fits 8/80'-90 60/62 Series Left Hand Drive - https://cruiserteq.com/tie-rod-end-kit-fits-8-80-90-60-62-series-left-hand-drive/
Wow, great catch! I updated the original post.
I copied the wrong link into the spreadsheet, but did actually order the correct part. In fact, I had originally emailed CruiserTeq to confirm the right kit. The correct SKU for lefthand drive is TRE69065 and the link is: Tie Rod End Kit - Fits...
Yeah, interested to know what you're going with. I did a bunch of research and Fox never came up as an ideal option for a stock setup, but I'm a huge Fox fan based on my experience with their mountain bike suspension products.
Quite welcome! One thing to note: the front Bilstein's are on backorder for a long time. I got some really basic, cheap shocks from my local 4WheelParts store so I can get everything on, and will throw the better shocks on whenever they get in.
I'm re-installing A/C in my FJ60, which came with a re-built 2F when I bought it. It had a box of A/C parts, but I didn't think to check the crankshaft pulley, and it turns out that it's the 2 groover version.
If anyone has a good used 3-groove crankshaft pulley, I'd take it off your hands!
Will do! Just waiting on the rear springs to come in (about 2 weeks) and I'll throw everything on. And yes—definitely less than an off the shelf kit for those who want a high-quality stock setup.
Howdy. I'm piecing back together the A/C system from a parts box that came with an '85 FJ60 I bought (previous owner removed A/C). Between the included parts and aftermarket, I have everything but the A/C discharge hose that runs from the condenser to the compressor.
Attached is a diagram as...
