I guess I should be more specific. There is nothing connected from the factory to the outside of the stop lever. It is something to be pushed with your hand. When you do push it the engine should stop. I am fairly certain I used mine to stop my engine once.
There are lots of threads on the glow system and it isn't exactly straight forward.
You will need to do things like trace your wiring, record things like relay part numbers, glow plug part numbers...
If my calculations are correct you need to turn the crank counterclockwise 118 full turns.
Alternatively you could turn it another 3,656 turns clockwise to get it back in time.
Or just pull the gears and reset everything.
I double checked the calcs and I believe this is correct provided the...
Appologies if this is off base as I don't have direct experience with this engine. But can't you just remove the gears and re-time it?
Give me a few minutes and I'll see if I can calculate the number of turns and direction needed from your yellow marks.
Looking at this stuff again on my vehicle. The original poster appears to have a turbo fitted. In this case it probably won't work as designed by Toyota. You'd have to figure it out yourself.
First thing pictured is a stop lever. See FSM for 2H page EM-24, FU-34.
It starts almost immediately cold or hot, no smoke white, black or oil burning. I am pretty sure the valve core i used is causing a low reading. I'll get another one tomorrow to check it.
Anyone know how to tell if the max fuel setting is somehow restricted? This is an automatic so no edic or...
Checked my compression and it isn't great. Tester has a check valve right at the tip of the glow plug adapter. Gauge compared to another one and mesaured the same.
1 = 330 psi
2 = 240 psi
3 = 285 psi
4 = 230 psi
5 = 250 psi
6 = 285 psi
Leakdown test on #1 was 80 psi in and 55 psi out...
1/8" toe in best I can carefully measure across the tread blocks. I used to setup Formula Ford race cars so I'm not entirely new to "at the track" alignments.
Front axle is within OEM FJ80 specs for camber as well (Birfs and balls are FJ80, knuckle is Hellfire Fabworks).
No but I looked at my options really carefully.
The FZJ80 wheels with 285/75R16 fit but with that small a tire it appears to stick out quite a bit (even though offset is the same since the HMMWV's use 2" spacers) and I was too lazy to change all 4 in the heat.
Where I'm headed is 315/70R17 or...
One rear brake was dragging but I was able to free it. This made no noticeable difference. I drove up an 8% grade yesterday pulling a small trailer. At WOT I can hold 22 mph. Calculated this takes 24 HP to climb that hill. Everything else between my engine and the road is a loss. It isn't...
Is there anyone out there that has made an accurate cad file or drawing of a 2H exhaust manifold connection to the head?
I want to begin designing a turbo and don't want to disassemble my 40 to measure it.
Thanks in advance to anyone that assists.
I trust your judgement on the overall volume of the installation. It will depend on what I can fit. I have hydroboost, the 2H is in a 40 so the steering (saginaw) sort of goes right through the best area for the turbo (think 12HT location) and I have a snorkel on the left plumbed over to the...
It might be more of an academic exercise but the reason for two is two reduce the exhaust valve overlap like is done with a twin scroll. Maybe the small units will spool faster as well?
Also that they are small and I think I can fit them in places I have in the engine bay, plus I already have...
I'm hoping to get an opinion on this idea I had.
Install two turbos on the 2H, one on cylinders 1, 2, 3, the second on 4, 5, 6.
Turbos to use would be the KKK K14 off the 1.9L AAZ Turbo Diesel VW engine (since I have one alrady), or possibly the smaller K03 if it is a better match.
Hooked up a pressure gauge on the bleeder at the fuel filter. Reading between 20 and 30 psig bouncing some so that seems fine for the lift pump.
Checked the vacuum at the intake after the filter. Maybe 5 in of water at power. Seems great to me.
Used my GPS to check the speedo. Truck is going...
