I had the same problem.
I went from a drop or two to a puddle after replacing the gasket. It turned out to be the replacement bolts weren't short enough for location 'C'.
Before and after the seal was fine and since I make my own caskets I didn't bother getting a new one.
A week later it started...
That's exactly what I did. However, not against the passenger side,, against the driver side frame. Placed a block of wood between the two and backed it off a few inches. When I hit the starter it was just enough to break it free, when it hit the wood. Now, after fixing the oil leak in the...
Hi.
I'm a 45 owner but my Frankenstein has a unique drive train.
I have a 2F paired with a 5 speed H55f.
According to the write ups I could find, this pairing was only offered on the 83 and up FJ60's and 62's, and then only in the models offered in Australia and Japan,,,, with a few coming out...
Bear.
I was hoping the one I found on line was a leftover but they are still not answering my e-mails as to why they canceled the order, so they probably didn't have it. I am waiting to hear back from Whitey45 but am also looking into having mine traced and cut here, from a local shop.
I will...
Thanks, you guys are great.
I have one still in the rubber that's cracked but probably traceable.
I would like to put in an OEM so if let me know how much you want for it . Otherwise I can look up a local class shop.
Regards.
Angelo.
Hi.
I'm looking for a back window for my 45, 64811-90336 which is discontinued and was preseeded by 64811-90332, which is also discontinued.
I found and ordered a 64811-90332 from toyotaparts.com but I just found out they canceled my order without notifying me. I figure they don't have it even...
Well, I did order the part on MagaZip which listed it for $1840. Today I received a notification that it wasn't available to begin with and my money is being returned.
Thank you for all this good information.
I wish I had the luxury of sticking within a specific model year but I made the mistake of purchasing a Frankenstein.
My frame dates back to 64 the cowl 66, windshield 76, doors 84. And I'm still finding out things I didn't know like the cab.
Current goal...
Thank you for your help.
I didn't know about the clip on years.
I have a bolt on upper cap panel that has rot around the bottom but I don't know what year it is. Now I know it's not from the 66 it was sold as.
I have an opportunity to purchase one for an 80-84. The fact that it's bolt on has me...
Hello.
I am under the impression that most body panels are interchangeable from year to year, between 66 and 84.
Is there any reason to think this would not hold true for the upper cab panel for the FJ45?
I'm still having a hard time nailing down the year of the different parts use restoring the FJ I bought and, it would seem, what I didn't know when I bought it keeps coming back to haunt me.
I was under the impression my windshield was from a 76 so I purchased a replacement one for a 1/'75 to...
Thank you, it does help.
Nice and clean.
Mine doesn't have the ridge supports or the flattened tab in the middle of the front lip but the windshield bracket is the same and now the welds on mine make more sense.
Is that factory metal of aftermarket aluminum?
Bear, Thank you for your help.
The part I unglued sat forward of the crossbar and has the two holes you speak of. It is molded to the shape of the windshield and there is a foam like weatherstripping that sits between. I have seen aftermarket roofs that have this part attached, possibly spot...
Unfortunately I didn't know as much about TLC's when I purchased this "fully restored, turn key, 66 fj45", eight years ago.
Turns out it's more of a Frankenstein of cruisers with the only thing that might be from a 66, besides the registration, is the cowl.
