Slow 25 mile roll through the state forest this afternoon in East Hampton CT. Tons of beautiful widow makers and blow overs from the last few strong wind storms. Not easy to be outside… very frigid. Love how my old girl just rolls along w/ no issues. Fantastic sunset tonight that seemed to go on...
That little extension you made for the speaker mounts is exactly what I needed to see. I recently installed some of those and wondered how to not have them dangle. Drove to NH w/ them like that and thankfully there was no irritating vibration but I need to make a couple of them. Thanks!
Drove the 60 45mins one way for some ink therapy… I’ve got this crazy notion that I want to try to go to SAS out in Ouray CO this Aug so figure I really need to be driving the truck as FT as able to work out any major squeaks. After I grabbed $20 worth of cinder blocks from Home Depot today...
Could be. I haven’t pulled those rear heater hoses even tho they really do need to get replaced.
I wouldn’t use any of that bars stuff either. My machine shop (old guy) uses it but I just didn’t feel right after all of you speaking so badly about it AND the reviews online were all bad. Guess...
Drove it to work. A better choice in the blizzard we were getting than my little mazda3. I’m never thrilled to get her on the salty pavement but I do want to enjoy her and be safe, so that’s how it goes. She’s gotten a couple good power washes since.
Not entirely WITH the 60 but definitely FOR the 60... picked up this antique transmission jack tonight for $50. It’s a big one! Most likely will be just for removal of the tcase and transmission. More than likely I’ll be installing the engine and tcase/trans together in a few months as one...
Amateur here... attempting to keep my rusty 60 alive. No word yet from the machine shop on the block and it’s essentials (only been a week) after finding broken pistons. Made a patch and began welding it in.
Figured I’d toss in my two cents on kayaks... I bought my Wilderness Systems, Pamilico 120 years ago at an outdoor shop cheap because it was from the previous season. It’s a fishing kayak so it doesn’t have a keel and the cockpit is much bigger. I really like the not having to keep my balance...
Ha! It’s not actually. Wood was creeki g real good earlier w/ about 30% weight on it. Added some 2x3s under it to balance it off on the frame instead of the floor of the wagon. I’ve got some nice black walnut, I’ll have to rebuild it fir my kid eventually. Thing has been around; was my daughters...
Totally respect you and all, maybe it’s just the maternal side of me ... toss a jack stand under that next time or at least the tire under the axle? Just for safety sake w/ the little kiddo tugging on a wrench!
I will add, that truck is a true Beast! And you two are a super cute father/son...
Dove in and found a broken ring and two knarly pistons. After that, about 8:30am Sat, I started pulling everything off the engine to prep to pull the block.
Woofuckinghoo.
