The lower tailgate with split upper doors would be fine. The split upper and lower would probably rattle apart after a while. Tough to make all 4 pieces ridged enough to handle that kind of design.
I removed the amp gauge and installed a generic voltmeter on my stock cluster. Mainly because i installed a high amp alternator. Other than that I saw no other reason to replace any other gauges. I just did some mild fabrication to the back of the cluster. I also installed improved lighting.
Haha. The clear bra can be replaced every few years and is pretty tough. It would allow you to use it without much fear of damaging the paint. Anyway just throwing the idea out there.
The problem with a forced induction v8 in a land cruiser is that it's in a vehicle that needs to sustain power for long periods under load without everything overheating. Unless it's used for just getting ice cream down the street of course. Which many are.

Those are the original windshield hold downs. Can't buy that style anymore. I've always wondered if you can drill the rivet out and rebuild them. Never tried it.
