I got this tank about 10 years ago with the idea of adding a third tank to my 45lwb. In the meantime, the truck has undergone other transformations, and the third tank idea no longer seems necessary. I pulled it out of storage to show Calico Kid yesterday, and now I don't feel like putting it back! So here goes.
The tank is referred to as a saddle mount. Upside down 'L' shaped, the intention is to mount it forwards of the rear axle, with the top of the 'L' over the rear driveshaft. Specs as follows:
Overall height: 14.5 inches
Length: 27 inches
Bottom cross section width [the part that would run alongside the driveshaft ] 11.75 inches
Top cross section [the top 5 inches of the tank] cross section wideth: 24 inchs.
IN OTHER WORDS... you would need to have at least 24 inches between the framerails, at least 12 inches between one framerail and the driveshaft [more would be better] and at least 27 inches forwards of ALL MOVING PARTS inboard of the framerail AND forwards of the rear end ...and the front of your bed FOR THIS TANK TO FIT.
PLEASE MEASURE YOUR TRUCK before you post up questions.
Thanks for looking.
In case you don't know this, the tank is located in Burbank, CA
