GM high speed stalls 4l60e (1 Viewer)

I have a 06 Chevrolet Avalanche 4x4 5.3 with 4l60e behind it. I’m having troubles of high stall speeds but only in overdrive when I’m letting the vehicle run under own power , but when I go to accelerate it’s suddenly lost all gears. I put a new torque converter in and it fixed my problem I’d say for 30 minutes but I’m having a strange sound and I’ll put the truck in 4H and the noise quits then I can put it back in 2H and it’s good to go again. Could this be a transfer case problem?

Without experiencing it firsthand, I'd say only that it's possible. I had issues with the t-case in my Yukon that led to some odd issues and my neighbor had some similar t-case issues on his Suburban. Rebuilds of the t-case solved the issues with both trucks.
