22re Mechanic in Cbus area? (1 Viewer)

My little brother is picking up an 87 pickup with a 22re and automatic. Who is the 22re JimC in the area?

Does it have a 22RE problem?

Other than needing a chain kit, WP & front seal every 100K, they are pretty bulletproof.

Fortunately, the R series engine & matching trans was in a gazillion pickups, 4runners, Celicas, Coronas for decades, so there are many old timers who are still familiar with it.

I think just an oil leak for now. I’m thinking he just wants to pay someone to go over.
Auto tranny is skipping? Second gear maybe?
It’s rust free though. He is flying to Atlanta to pick it up.
