Damn, I gotta go. But I better get those sliders on first!

I know Toyminater and I are going.....

also have at least 5 or 6 other guys coming down in our group too!

They have extended the deadline so please use the online form and sign up now if your are interested.

I'm registered. If I ultimately cannot attend, I guess someone else could take my T-Shirt and enjoy my Friday night BBQ "I drink your milkshake!"

Who else has committed by registering? I see dirttoyboy, any others?

Dropped the TAC bomb last night. I'm intending on going Friday and Saturday for sure. I may need to watch the kids on Sunday, while Katya flies up to Chicago to see her mom off.

I'm registered.

I'll be there Friday morning at 6:45 a.m. as planned. I'll be looking for MoJ and WFD for breakfast (and maybe Toyminator if he can make it out that early).

I'll be on CB channel 15 throughout the trip.

6:45am sounds good to me.

I'm still working on a 'minor' client emergency (it's almost like the economy fell apart this past week ;)).

I wasn't able to meet up with toyminator to swap out my BFG AT tires for his Toyo MT tires (which were previously WFD's tires) so I'll be running on smaller AT tires.

Last night, I decided to fix my minor exhaust leak. I thought I had it nailed down to the y-pipe flange gaskets but when I finally got those off (they were a b*tch even after two weeks of soaking with PB-Blaster) I found there was also a crack in the seam at the Y (hell, I might have even caused that trying to get the Y-pipe off, but I don't think so).

So I took the Y-pipe down to weld the cracked seam and decided that to do it right I needed to get the cats seperated from the y-pipe . . . and if I was going to do that I might as well heat and bend the y-pipe to get the cats lined up in the center of the void between the frame and rockers . . . and if I was going to do that I might as well cut the rear cat and then clock the cats 90 degrees and get them out of the way . . . and if I was doing that, I might as well route the small piece of exhaust after the cats up and over the frame instead of under it . . . hell, I guess I may have snapped and gone too far.

I finished up around 3:30 a.m. this morning. I got the Y-pipe seam fixed-up fairly nice (best weld all night) and I got the Y-pipe back in place with the new flange gaskets and everything sounds nice and tight. I even got the Y-pipe bent a bit to allow me to clock the cats and I got those back in place.

Then I got to the small piece of exhaust after the cats and under the frame. I realized that if I reroute that piece I will need to move the O2 sensor. I don't have a new O2 sensor or a bunge to weld on to the new piece of pipe I bought :bang:. But I already had the Y-pipe bent and the cats turned, so I cut the rear piece of exhaust just before it goes under the frame and then used one of the pieces of pipe I purchased to get it lined up with the cats in the center of the frame and rockers. I had to weld this part laying on my back in the driveway at 3am. It looks pretty ugly and I don't think the pipe I bought at Autozone is stainless (I thought it was when I bought it, but it didn't weld nicely). The welds are good, but look like . . . well, it looks like an attorney welded them :frown:. I'm actually OK with the welds, I just don't like the way the extra piece of pipe looks.

However, my plan is to see how it works out (read below) and ultimately get the bunge and new O2 sensors and rework the piece behind the cat so it goes up over the frame. I'll swap the bunge and O2 sensor in the process.

As for how it is working, there definitely seems to be a bit more low-end torque (we'll see for sure at FN tomorrow), and the gurgle from the leak is definitely gone. However, when I drove it for the first time this afternoon (to show the work to STLcruiser) I could smell some welding/burning type fumes after just a short 3-4 mile drive and there was a puff of white-ish smoke from under the truck when I parked. STLcruiser confirmed the smell but there was no more smoke even after letting the truck idle for about 10-15 minutes. I drove home and then to the bloody client meeting and now back to my office. I can still smell the welding/burning smell, but it is much less. I didn't smell anything last night (early a.m. this morning I guess) when I finished and started the truck to check for leaks, but I'd been welding for hours and probably had a nose full of smoke anyway - so nothing stood out).

I think it is only the result of the welding and the black post-weld crap I sprayed on the new piece of exhaust. Can anyone think of anything else I might be missing?

Hopefully, I won't need to use the fire extinguisher on the way to FN tomorrow (or while there).

WFD & Toyminator & MoJ (maybe) I'll see you at 6:45 a.m. in Bourbon.

Pics will follow if anyone is interested.

How long are you guys sticking around on Friday? I won't make it down until early afternoon.

William - you're wearing me out. :p

We had a great time at this event and actually managed to win a camel back pack from the Toyota trail teams.

William, you have won a goodie bag containing a spill saver spout, a jar of Wheel Wax, a 10 oz bottle of Lube Guard automatic transmission flush for use with or without a machine, a dual DC adapter and a vidio from Crawl magazine called All My Dirty Friends 2. We will work someting out to get it to you.

Although the stuff sounds pretty neat (especially the dual DC adapter - even though I don't know what that is), consider it all a gift. Thanks for looking out for me at the raffle.

The trail team camelback is cool - they did a really nice job on the Toyota logo. I meant to buy a Trail Team ball cap, but left in a hurry to catch WFD's dust.

Who won the roof-top-tent and the ARB fridge?????

Buy a cap? All that stuff was free courtesy of Mr. T. You guys left before they gave out the cool Toyota folding shovels and the survival kits. The shovel came in handy for rescuing a nearly tipped 60 late Saturday night.

A guy from KC won the tent...can't recall his name but he has a white 4 door Taco. The driver's prize (choice of ARB fridge or winch) went to........Brian from B&D. Yes, the same guy who donated them!
