My LJ 78 emits thick black smoke occasionally only in reverse, Im having a difficult time finding out what the problem is and the "paper clip" diagnostics is not helping.
Has anybody here experienced this? If so what was the cause?
Many thanks in advance....:)
Yeah i can feel you crusher..... here on our side we would just end up with the "softied" LC 200. I used to work with Toyota here and they told me they will never sell the 70's here unless your an NGO like the U.N.
How lucky can the Australian market get!
They get the V 8 Comon Rail Diesel engine with 430 Newton meters of torque engine! :crybaby::beer::cheers:
Just read it on thier Overlander Off roading Magazine.....
fabricated my spacer for the coils 1 3/4 inches for the front and 1 1/2 for the rear. Looks like my Simex Jungle trekkers size 33 x 10.5 x 16 will clear the wheel wells.
REALLY? 80 series coils? will it raise the vehicle? how would it affect the ride if i place them on my LJ's? sorry for the numerous questions, im new in the coil spring stuff. Im old school leaf springs coz of my 60. Cheers
The place where i got my 2 LJ 78's sells them here and is quite popular as a ute for the cost concious construction company that bought several of them. not sure tho how the coil springs will hold out with the stuff they load it with.
The new head is a 3l head, an aftermarket unit. The old one is a factory unit. Grrrrrr... will take your advice on the thermostat c clip, mind telling me how removing that clip will help? thanks. : )
Blew a head again Grrrrrr........ But i found a brand new head which has thicker metal on the combustion chamber side and has additional cooling lines on it. Looks promising.
The cracked head was my fault, I did not bleed the air out of the system when i flushed the radiator Sheeeesh...
Its amazing what small diesel engines will do nowadays. I just arrived froma 5000 kilometer trip in these new Ford Ranger's (Philippine Variant) and it was quite esy for those things to hit 200 kph. Makes me want to place those new toyota 3.0 D4d engines on my LJ 78's hehehehehe...
