If you haven’t pulled out the lock cylinder, that sounds believable. My dealership told me it would be $65 just to pull the lock cylinder to get the key code. I went home and took the cylinder out myself in a few minutes. Took it back over and they cut two keys for $12, i think.

I had to get new ones made as my only key was about to break. I did have to pull the passenger door lock and clean it up to find the key code. Dealership did not ask for VIN. They couldn’t just pull it from the VIN because nothing came up in their computers for “that old a truck(1985)”. Guy was...

Thanks! I read upon some posts and started work on them. I have few tools, so i drilled the center and beat them with a chisel. Got 4 of 8 out. Good grief, those things are tough. Hopefully this weekend i will be able to get the rest. Thanks for your input.

I'm about to take my bumper brackets off, as the PO modified them to fit his custom bumper. Are those rivets holding them to the frame?
