    Head units that aren't hideous

I've tried to find the right headunit for an 80 series for 3 years now. I am really hoping the search is over with this new product from Pioneer. https://pioneer-car.eu/media/6c/8f/06/1747902958/Pioneer%20SXT-C10PS%20Global%20Press%20Release.20250522.pdf

My other poor financial decision: 1994 FZJ80 land cruiser

I taught myself the basics of welding on my 80. I don't have a roof rack from the factory but, I was "blessed" with the rusted out second row seat belt mounts. A friend of me had a parts 3rd gen 4Runner. He gave me a wrecked door from it, and I did all my practice welds on it. I would cut out a...

    Engine overheat (1FZ-FE)

What I've gathered from the mud veterans, if the cooling system is satisfactory and it has adequate oil pressure, the 1FZ-FE is more than happy at 4K RPM. :flipoff2:

    Builds 1997 FZJ75 Pickup

Just stumbled upon this thread, couldn't help but drool over this 75 series! Had to do a double take when I saw the Knox license plate  Can't wait to spot this thing in the wild someday.

What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend?

Used the dang thing this weekend. Don't forget to touch grass and stop obsessing over every little noise or rattle these cruisers make. 80's just don't care.

    Driveshaft play

Inspect the condition of your front drive flanges as well. I removed a considerable amount of play in my front axle by replacing those.

blue smoke on start up and deacceleration

When I first got my 93 FZJ80, if I let it idle from cold for 5-10 minutes, the first tap of the gas pedal would make a puff of blue smoke come out the tail pipe. 160K miles, okay maintenance history. Previous owner always put in conventional 5W-30. I changed the oil to Shell Rotella T6 15W-40...

    GGM should make a....

Not sure if you're still developing new products or not. But, I'd love a way to swing my bike rack out of the way. A GGM designed bolt on a swing arm with a 2" receiver hitch would solve one of my headaches. I've attached a couple of photos I stole from another thread explaining what I'm in...

Put pictures of the wheels you have in yours 80 series

17" Toyota steel wheels with 285/75/17 K02. No spacers or center caps. I sand blasted the wheels and spray painted them rust-oleum gun metal gray. I felt this was an appropriate combination considering it has next to no factory options. Beige metallic, open diffs, no roof rack or spoiler from...

    Installed Dobinson's 1.75 Inch Variable Rate Suspension Kit: C59 - 222V, C59 223V

Here's my contribution to the C59 - 222V, C59 223V Dobinsons suspension kit. I purchased the entire kit through @crikeymike. Had a 10/10 experience there and will be ordering through him again. Showed up in perfect condition within a week. I was extremely surprised by the robustness of the IMS...

Builds My 97 LC 2JZ manual swap build thread

I come back and check for updates on this build, constantly. I'm excited to hopefully learn a little bit about the 2JZ. I like watching people be good at what they do.

Hey folks. Looking forward to being a part of this forum. I’m in a 97’ FZJ80 Collector’s. 209k. Here to learn!

One thing I quickly noticed on this site was how many people from East TN are on here. You've got my dream spec 80 series cruiser. I'll keep any eye out for you on the road!

    Installed Dobinson's 1.75 Inch Variable Rate Suspension Kit: C59 - 222V, C59 223V

Here's an odd question for suspension geometry guru's. I'm more of a 1.5 - 2.5 inch lift guy and I love all the content in this thread about the Dobinsons 222V/223V combination. I purchased my 93 FZJ80 with OME 863J / 850J springs on a completely unloaded cruiser. I have close to 4+ inches of...

Builds TRDdrew's build: let me introduce Waffles

Wow that center console looks excellent! Is it specific to the 80 or did you have to do some custom stuff to make it fit?
