Had a great morning on the car figuring out the final pieces before I weld the outer rocker on. I didn’t get any pictures but I had a 1” by 1” or so patch I needed to get in the tub horn with a tricky curve before I sealed it up with last small...
So updates on my Trek Roscoe 6.... been doing some events like Bikes and Beers with it and they are all paved rides, both path and street, and the knobbies were not the best choice for that... swapped over to some Maxxis Hookworms and it really...
No pictures, but it did happen. I got a ride in Thursday morning to try and beat the onset of this crazy heat, just did my usual suburban route. The highlight of my route is the short dirt and gravel paths in Sugg Farm Park/Bass Lake here in...
Well I will post this here since CLCC doesn't really seem to have any bikers and no where to post this stuff really....
not that mine is anything as nice as the ones here but ....
installed a new fork and handle bar on my bike.... upgraded to a...
Holy 20 year old thread revival batman!!! ;)
Post it up in the for sale section my guy, i'm sure everyone on this board is interested but details and price will show how "interested" everyone will be
More progress today. I found a great YouTube video that shows this exact job on a short wheelbase 70. He fabricated all of the parts while I’m taking the path of less resistance with new metal from Toyota. I hit a bit of a discouraging point...
Thanks LRDF. I need to restore the original bolt holes and overall fender lip and the outer edge of the apron where they connect. I also need to restore the lowest part of the fender where it attaches to the body. Pictures and measurements of...
My build thread has some pics. I’m not sure exactly what spot(s) you are looking at, but I have both my front fenders off at the moment. I might be able to get some more detailed pics for you late tomorrow. Tell me some more detail and I’ll see...
Step one for the rocker was to get access to the front spot welds so I can drill them out. I cut off the bottom of the door pillar just below the bottom door hinge and drilled the welds. It came out nicely in one piece.
As you can see in the pic, the fender has multiple issues. I’d love to buy a new one and a new apron, which are available, but that’s out of my budget for this beater. If anyone has a pic of the inside lower corner that has rusted away, I’d...
The biggest challenge I ran into having rustoration work done in Liberia 12 years ago was the unavailability of quality preservation and rust proofing chemicals. I brought as many Eastwood products as I could in my luggage but it often wasn’t...
There are probably better threads out there than anything I’m going to document but I thought it might be worth something to share my work. I’m not an experienced welder or body guy so this will be the average (or below average) joes body job...
got the fender off. The outer fender comes off with the inner fender as they are tightly joined with glue and at least one spot weld. Both rows of bolts in the fender liner have to be removed. The liner stays in place. In order to remove the...
I've gotten this combo out for a few trips in July already, mostly within a few hours of home.
I'm hoping to have my gullwing window before the end of the summer, but the duct tape tint is holding for now.
