Grandma car stories: The cost of driving and maintaining an 80 series for 24 years...

Cool. I remember those too. Have never seen one on an 80. Definitely a fancy add-on back in the day.

That's a beautiful truck. What is the little antenna on the passenger back side window? Is that an aftermarket add-on of some kind?

    Magnuson supercharger - coming back

Can confirm this approach. With these fan clutch and catch-can mods, my super charged and rebuilt 1FZ-FE does not run hot on I-70 in the high country or elsewhere, nor does it run hot in difficult terrain. I recently took it on a long trip to Moab (top of the world and the Maze) with no heat...

    Drive shaft bolts

Not that I am aware of. OGbeno provides the part numbers for the front hardware in the same thread I quoted above, but it’s not in a kit.

What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend?

That's a beautiful new engine. And, your shop with white floors, walls, and ceiling is soooo clean!

What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend?

Beautiful truck. Are your headlamps, clearance lights and grille all original to your truck? I love that dark, non-chrome look, but having trouble finding the correct OEM part numbers and parts.

    Drive shaft bolts

I fully trust your advice, Onur. I have relied on your advice on the forum many times. I wouldn’t have quoted you previous post if I didn’t think it was 100% correct. My point about the VIN search wasn’t to question whether these are the right parts. Rather, I was just pointing out the need...

    Drive shaft bolts

Let me know if you find a source for quality longer DS bolts. I am considering upgrading my rear DS to Tom Woods and will also probably need longer bolts. I would like to have some spares of the longer bolts for both front and rear DS (which are different). I have wondered whether Toyota has...

    Drive shaft bolts

The Toyota hardware for the rear drive shaft comes as a kit (Part No. 90105-11H00): one bolt, one washer, one nut. PartSouq currently sells each kit for $1.69, but that part number doesn't show up if you search with your VIN.

    Part Number? / Part Name?

Thank you. That is a great suggestion. I didn't realize those were once staples. They're nearly completely gone now. Much appreciated.

    Part Number? / Part Name?

Thanks, Scott. That would explain why I can't find any hint of this part in any of the parts diagrams or on-line parts stores. Its not attached to the carpet. I also wondered whether its part of the wire harness for the cab. The old plastic is getting brittle and is cracked and broken from...

    Part Number? / Part Name?

Does anyone know the part number for this wire harness cover / protector / shield that runs under the carpet and scuff plate on the driver's side? It covers / snaps onto the metal ridge, has short spikes on top that help hold the carpet in place, and covers the wire harness running along the...

Rocker Panel Rust under Scuff Plate - Any Advice?

Great suggestion. Everything looks good under the carpet and wiring. Thank you.

80 Series Transmission Woes- Solenoid stuck or worse?

IIRC, there only only 3 solenoids in the A343 transmission.

Rocker Panel Rust under Scuff Plate - Any Advice?

It’s solid. Thank you. Very helpful.
