TLC100camper

Hi.
I have been enjoying this site for the past year, found you guys when I bought my 100 series. Still pretty green with off road and overland so I probably won't be contributing much other than a "thanks" ... for now at least!

I have recently quit working other than some remote quick books clients and have been traveling and living in nature, so I am a full time Landcruiser camper.

My "rig", if you can call it that, is totally stock for now. I am about to install a baja rack and Tepui tent and have some pretty cool plans for turning her into a full camper with hot water, solar power, DC fridge, drawer system, and more. Doing it one step at a time, tepui tent and rack was biggest purchase.

Why I chose a landcruiser instead of "#vanlife"
I am not going for a super rugged off road beast but more of a well equipped camper that is more mobile and off road capable than a camper van. I am making major compromises when compared to an unloaded and fully equipped Landcruiser but compared to a van obviously a loaded down Landcruiser is still better. Even when compared to a sportsmobile or quigley they cost more than twice and have half the lifespan of my Landcruiser. You have to pay big to transform something not designed to go off road, whereas a Landcruiser is doing what it was made for. Besides I get "bush pin stripping" with my LC so I can't imagine trying to fit a fat van on the trails I drive.

Thanks again for welcoming me to your forum and I hope as I learn more and upgrade my LC I can contribute also!
