You will get alot more help on this board with the SBC, and find parts easier for it. I always thought the 302's have more power than the 305's, but a 305 will work just fine. Gear it down somewhere either way. Either in the trans case (4:1 low gears), the tranny SM420 or SM465, or the Diffs...
