I'm curious to find out if you've been at or near actual speed indicated on the speedometer.

Did you buy from Adam Smith? Knew a guy with one like this in Jax at that time.

The Real Steel looks more true to the original cut, with the extension toward the rear sill under the doors. Don't see that from CCOT. Also, I dig all of the logos. Look awesome!

The rough ride is one reason my wife didn't like riding in it with me!! I just accepted it as normal, although I never removed the top and doors. Buckle up!

Finally! Does it make me lazy that I didn't prioritize that in 10 years of ownership?

Glad to see your son likes it! I know I sold her to a good home. Thanks for documenting the progress!

Agreed. It's harder now to find any that haven't been put together like Frankenstein. Harder and harder to find any that haven't been too messed with.

For Sale Opinions on this '79

I hear your concerns and shared them when I bought this from across the country. It's actually why I did so via Ebay, so that I would have the buyer protection guarantee. I also used my credit card. The price is now lower, but as the seller (and originally the buyer), I know this is a great rig.

Considering Buying: Opinions on this 79

No bondo, magnet holds strong everywhere. Paint was done before I bought, around 2006. No rust on bottom of doors. I know, my 78 had it on both front doors. These are all clean. She is about as good as you can find except for the repaint.

Considering Buying: Opinions on this 79

I checked and double checked...no bondo. Thankfully. I get it, seems to good to be true, must be too good to be true. Price is negotiable. I have loved this truck since before I owned it. She is as advertised. But, only worth what someone wants to pay. I dont need to sell, but want to. I just...

Considering Buying: Opinions on this 79

I agree, but the skid plate for the transfer case blocks the easy route back inside the frame. If the cat is moved back further, might be able to keep inside the frame, but not sure if that causes any performance issues given distance from motor and closeness to muffler. I've always hated the...

Selling my FJ40. I have owned this one for almost 10 years. Spent about a year finding this one. Wanted one as clean and unmolested as possible. She has some rust in rear quarter panels, no bondo, and otherwise very clean. No hidden messes. Ask any question and you'll get a straight answer...
