Does anyone know if the cowl vent screws on my Mustard 75 are supposed to be painted? I’m going to be repainting the vent as PO painted it black for some reason. I am pretty positive that the screws in it are original, but if that’s the case, they were never painted.

From the research I did 1975 was the first mustard released, and it was the only year of the paint code 531. I believe all the following were a 532.

Well, just an update! I ordered the adapters from CPP - CPP Power Steering Adapter Fitting Inverted Flare Steering Box To O-Ring Hoses . Having them shipped to me and gonna hopefully go that way until I get back. Thanks all for your input. Its greatly appreciated. Keep your fingers...

I just recently got the gearbox. It it as simple as going back to the store and looking for a 81 or newer so that I can just bolt back on and still use these existing hoses AND have the same spline size? If so what vehicle? I believe I asked for a 79 Jeep J20 or something. Thanks gain all!!!!
