I’ll be looking for a new one and I’m going to be looking on this forum in the classified this coming winter. I replaced my LX with a 2020 platinum F150 pick up which my wife drives. I’m currently driving my Uber eats 2010 Hyundai Accent.
Saving cash right now.
By the way, good luck getting insurance to pay what the market going rate is on these. I rejected the insurance offer two times it took me like three weeks, and in the end they only gave me 10 grand. I couldn’t find a comparable LX anywhere for under 14. They didn’t care.
Well, it was a good run. Three years. Did the battery break assembly brake booster and two alternators other than heater tees and other regular maintenance. Was just getting ready to change the AHC fluid timing belt water pump. She had 330 thousand miles on it and was running strong. I was...
Have flat towed my 05 LX 470 about 10,000 miles in the last year with the transfer case in neutral transmission and park key on auxiliary just to unlock the steering wheel with a battery maintainer. Works great no problems whatsoever. However I wrecked the LX so I no longer need the base plates...
The voltage started to drop so now I’m certain it’s the Alternator. Installed this one April 8th..less than 5 months old. Again, couldn’t source a Denso but I got one with a lifetime warranty…So tomorrow it’s another Pain in the buttt install..:
Doesn’t look like I can even get to the Alternator wire to check it without basically going through most of the steps required to change the Alternator……
The light blinks on and off. When my Alternator went, the light came on and voltage dropped. I was just able to check voltage at the battery...
Hey guys, I’m wondering if anyone has had this issue and knows what it could be. I replaced my alternator about six months ago and now all of a sudden last night the battery light has been coming on and off when I drive particularly on grades in the mountains and braking. I can’t get it to stay...
Yeah, I’m sure that aspect will all be a wash but it would be dubious to think that this land cruiser is going to last 25 or 30 years. Toyota already admits those batteries are 100 or 150,000 mile batteries. The way I drive that’s maybe seven years if I stop driving as much.
Don’t get me wrong...
It’s not likely to happen between Toyota and other manufacturers. As far as all the parts on the engine I’m looking to probably have to replace my engine if I’m keeping the vehicle since it has 320,000 miles on it so I will get all new plastic parts and I always keep some extras. I just don’t...
Nothing you could replace on the entire vehicle including the power plant is 10% as expensive as a new replacement. especially if you do the work yourself, which is easy. Although I would probably have the transmission done as I’ve never done transmission work.
